The Journey Home...

For many islanders, the only way home is on a ferry like this one, cruising through the San Juan Islands on an amazingly beautiful December afternoon.

Highway to the San Juan Islands

Some people have to deal with I-5, others have to deal with the 401 (the widest and busiest highway in the world, in Canada) but here in the San Juan Islands, this is the mode of transportation, and the main route, to the mainland. On a nice day, you can see Mount Baker peeking out from behind the islands... Or in my case, see it all from about 2000 feet up!
