Just completed the first half of our New Zealand adventure on the North Island. An amazing assortment of unforgettable places and experiences (photos not in order). Highlights include:
- The beautiful, cosmopolitan Auckland and its sky tower observatory
- Taking the ferry over to Waiheke Island to visit great wineries and wonderful views. (Great beaches too if weather permits)
- Head over to Waitomo caves for numerous different ways to explore the glow worm caves! We particularly loved the more adventurous Legendary Black Water Rafting company tour through the caves. So fun to both jump into the caves from a waterfall and to float in the dark while viewing the otherworldly glow worms.
- Speaking of otherworldly - a visit to Rotorua and its nearby Wai-o-Tapu geothermal waterpark will blow your mind! So many different beautiful colors and minerals coming out of the steaming waters. A true can’t miss!
- Rotorua is also the capital of Maori culture and we enjoyed a fabulous dinner (Hangi!) and show learning about the Maoris.

How often can travel not just transport you to a different place- but also to a different time? I just got back from a fabulous 3 night stay aboard Belmond’s Eastern & Oriental Express - and it was an amazing experience I will cherish forever! This luxury train journey starts in Singapore and takes you on a perfectly paced visit through Malaysia . It’s hard to convey how special the train and its staff are. As you walk down the beautifully wood paneled hallway to the elegantly decorated bars and restaurants- you are truly taken to a different era of travel. Some of the highlights include the extraordinary food on board at every meal, the passionate and attentive staff who immediately know your name and are genuinely interested in and passionate about making you enjoy your time as much as possible, and some great excursions that make you feel like you are in a movie. This was my first time in Singapore- but hopefully not my last! Such an impressive city/country that offers a fantastic blend of contemporary design, mixture of urban and nature and a harmonious unity of different cultures and ethnicities like no other. Had such a great time visiting the sites and also, of course, eating the food! I rediscovered that I LOVE New York! It had been a while since I had spent some real time in the city - and I was truly in awe at how vibrant and resilient this place is. There is an energy here like nowhere else in the world. The new buildings everywhere were truly impressive as were the amazing food I sampled. If you haven’t been here in a while- I highly recommend you revisit the city. You won’t be disappointed! travelstore

Wonderful family vacation options may be closer than they appear! So happy to share these photos that I just received from an extended family that enjoyed a week together this summer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It's really a magical place with convenient access to both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone (a bit further). In addition to the natural beauty and the wildlife (the photo of the Moose was taken from their balcony!) you also have the towns of Jackson and Teton Village with so much to offer - from museums, gondola rides up the mountain, an Alpine slide back down, to dinner in a covered wagon, to a daily stagecoach robbery "shooting" reenactment in Jackson Town Square - just to name a few. Jackson Hole is also a fantastic winter destination- so if you can't wait until next summer- call me to discuss winter opportunities as well! TravelStore

So many incredible places to visit just outside of London- definitely worth spending a few days there to get some of the experience. Some highlights were the Cotswolds (Lower Slaughter, Stanton and Broadway were 3 of our favorites- a combination of very small villages and more tourist- oriented town), Bath (really a must visit - not just for the Roman Baths- but especially to stroll the town which is all made of Bath Stone and wonderful to visit), Oxford, Windsor Castle and Stratton-upon-Avon (if you love Shakespeare). A special shout out to The Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds- which was really a special place to stay that made it even more magical. .

Some highlights from our family vacation to London. So much to see- so much to do that even after 5 days - there were things we didn’t get to! Some that we did get to: Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, House of Parliament, British Museum, Camden Market, Kensington Park, Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour, Thames River Boat Ride, Notting Hill, Covent Garden (saw Mamma Mia play- so fun!). Some fantastic photos my clients shared with me from one of the most special and magical places on earth- the Galápagos Islands! Each Island has its own unique charm and eco system and each day brought new animal sightings (penguins, blue footed bo***es, giant tortoises, and more!) both above and below the water. Costa Rica was truly magical. Here are some highlights from over family spring break. It was a combination of adventure and beach with visits to Arenal volcano (some fantastic places to stay in the area) and hot springs, the Monteverde cloud forest and great beach and celebration with friends in Guanacaste near the town of Tamarindo. The highlights: seeing a quite active sloth when hiking the hanging bridges, zip lining, whitewater rafting, night hike with lots of animals dips in the hot springs, and stellar beach sunsets while sipping on local beers. Costa Rica is a fantastic destination and happy to help make it a reality for you! TravelStore

Sometimes we forget that we don’t have to fly (or drive) very far to experience some of the most magical places that the world has to offer. My clients just got back from a stay at Amangiri which was nothing short of spectacular. From the rooms and spaces that blend in so naturally with the desert surroundings - to the world famous pool carved around the hill - it’s a feast for the senses. We truly loved every city we visited and had the sweetest most informative guides. And when it comes to above and beyond the Capri Tiberio Palace was heaven on earth. Not only was the setting breathtakingly beautiful but, thanks to you, the staff was aware it was our honeymoon and our final stop so they did everything they could to make it an unforgettable few days. They upgraded us to a top floor ocean view room, and had champagne and dessert waiting for us on our balcony. We had literal tears of joy in our eyes upon arriving."

There is good reason Travel & Leisure Magazine selected Istanbul as Europe's #1 city in their 2023 "World's Best" Awards issue. This cosmopolitan city has so much to offer to visitors as it sits genuinely in the intersection of where Europe meets Asia. So much history and beauty to see in its world-reknown palaces and mosques, but also so many different neighborhoods each with their own personality - all along the Bosphorus river that was beautiful to sail down. After a full day of sight seeing, nothing can beat the delicious food the country has to offer (actually - the breakfast at the start of the day is amazing too) - or a stop to relax in a hammam- before returning to your stunning hotel. When you visit - make sure to also leave plenty of time for shopping! Whether it's to purchase a carpet at the Grand Bazaar - or the latest fashionable outfits- the city has it all. The city has been one of the most requested destinations this year and I look forward to helping you discover (or return) to this gem!

While in Turkey at the coast- we had the opportunity to visit the ancient city of Ephesus. I always find it so amazing to marvel at how people lived back then- and what the circumstances were that led to the downfall of a city. I personally learn so much more about history when I walk through it with a great guide. We also really enjoyed a wonderful peaceful lunch among The olive groves and a visit to learn about the art of carpet making and silk weaving. All fascinating. I highly recommend a visit here- you won’t regret it! TravelStore

Some belated images of our fantastic summer visit to Bodrum in Turkey. This peninsula has become a very popular destination for luxury travelers from around the world looking for great weather, beautiful water and coastal views and terrific cuisine. A couple of things to keep in mind if considering a visit: First- distances are large - so transportation is a consideration if you plan to tour the area vs just stay in your resort. I highly recommend visits to the town of Bodrum and a trip to Ephesus ruins (a whole other post coming). Second- the water is fantastic and calm in many places. Most resorts don’t have sandy beaches- but rather platforms to dive into the water. Some may love that- and for those seeking a sandy beach- let me know and we can ensure you are going to a resort that offers that. Speaking of resorts- thanks to Mivara Luxury Bodrum for the fantastic resort stay and unforgettable service and breakfast!

I am just about to leave Turkiye- but couldn’t do so without a special shout-out to the new The Peninsula Istanbul that made our stay in Istanbul extra special. Everything here is amazing- from the building design in itself, to the perfect location for visiting the town, to the views (wow!) and the pools - and last but certainly not least - the service!
