Our Why
“I came up with the idea to do Top Shelf Getaways after tragedy struck a few times in one year: My brother was murdered in Miami, GF and I had a devastating loss/relationship ended, and my best friend embezzled $150,000 from me, not to mention some other hardships. I prayed that God would just get me out of LA, then I edited the prayer and said "God get me out of LA for free..." then I edited it again and said "God I want to see the world and be paid for it." Guess what...it happened.
I subsequently booked 2 movies that took me to Thailand and Dubai respectively and my world was set on fire. I discovered myself in the jungles of Thailand with no tv, in a river town boutique hotel, while I prepared to do what I love for a living (Film).
It was liberating! I found new music, ate delicious food daily and meditated alone. Some evenings I'd hang with the locals or with co-workers and enjoy a cocktail and laughter but ultimately it was a much needed healing experience.
Dubai was opulent and exciting as I explored the Desert in off-road vehicles and drank lemongrass cocktails atop the Burj Khalifa.
These experiences became part of my quest to "Eat, pray, love" and I realized I needed my friends and family to get to know themselves through travel, like I had begun to.
My Goal:
To curate High end international travel experiences specific to those looking to get the best out of life and adventure... I want to dispel the myth that POC and those that love them, lack class, decorum and aren't worldly. It’s simply not true. I want to do this while providing the absolute BEST hospitality and also not breaking the bank. VIP travel doesn't have to be expensive. It just has to be memorable.”
