Fireworks were held at Navy Pier to celebrate Chicago's re-opening.
The fireworks display in harmony with the night view of Chicago was so enchanting.

[MEETING FASHION INFLUENCER IN REAL LIFE]
"I met a fashion influencer in real for photoshoot who I communicated through email at my workplace. He was so cool and genuinely had fun with fashion! It was amazing to meet influencer in person and worked together. I was inspired by him and got bright energy from him. I hope he keeps up the good work and spreads his cool vibe toward the world!"
[ZUMBA CLASS FOR BREAST CANCER]
"I joined a free Zumba class in North Hollywood. Every month there is free Zumba class to support breast cancer. There were lots of people in huge space and everybody danced and worked out. It felt so exciting and fun to work out as a big group."

My Memories of Governor's Island, Eden from South Korea
"Governorβs Island is an Island only opened to the public in the summer. And thereβs a special event named βJazz lawn Partyβ. Itβs more than a normal Jazz Party because it takes place in the 1930s concept. Iβm a kind of person who likes Jazz music, dancing and something special. So that party was perfect for me. When I got there, most people wore dresses from the 1930s and Jazz Band kept playing the music. Those made me feel as if I were in America in the 1930s.
What I surprised was that people there were really good at dancing. Their movements were so fast that I couldnβt keep up with them. I wondered where and how they got that. It was a shame that I couldnβt dance like them, but it was good enough for me to dance feeling the Jazz music.
It was a really special and unforgettable experience for me. It didnβt seem like an event, it just looked like one summer day in the 1930s. People were just chatting with their friends, taking a nap on the blanket, dancing on the floor, reading books and eating some snacks. Itβs special but ordinary. I think this made it more special to me."

1st Place December Monthly Contest Winner
Here is a story from Hyeonji, an ICCE J-1 participant in Los Angeles, California.

"I wanted to share my experiences in LA to make this video.
As you can see, I went to quite a lot of places appeared in the video with my friends that Iβve met through the Korea WEST Program: Santa Monica Beach, Santa Monica Pier, 3rd Promenade, The Getty Center, Venice Canals, The Grove, Little Tokyo, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, and California State University. Wherever I went, I took a lot of videos so that I was able to make this clip. There were more places I visited except for those, but I could not put all the videos in one clip.
I could easily go to 3rd Promenade, Santa Monica Beach, and Santa Monica Pier because it was really close to CEL (College of English Language) where I learned English from August to October. Also, I saw the Christmas Parade with my English teacher Ray from CEL and his students including me after his potluck party. That was amazing! Many people wore costumes from popular TV series and movies like Star Wars on the Parade as you can find it in the clip.
Now I have stayed in LA over 5 months, I have already learned a lot of things that have made my horizon broader than before. So, I am so excited about what I can experience next during my internship in LA."

Congratulations Karsten! Youβve won the 1st place for our Nove...
"During October, me and the other interns from the company prepared a Halloween party at Sunset Beach together with our CEO. The attractions/party were divided into two parts,"Peanuts" for the younger children and the scary "Haunted Graveyard" for the adults. There were also some games for the children. We played different "Peanuts" characters or frightened the adults with scary costumes. I was Linus and "played" piano. Many families and children came by and took photos with us.
Some children even wanted to have the piano keys, as you can see in the video. :)"

βThis is one of a bittersweet feeling because one of the interns is about to end her contract in the company. I was a little bit nervous and shy during this gathering because there are all new faces to me. This was an opportunity for me to meet my coworkers and be able to bond with them. I was really impressed on how the company grew and became stable. I was impressed about everything that night. I was amazed on how Mr. Park and her wife Gina managed their business. It really helps a lot especially to me, because it widens my knowledge in regard to business. That night was really fun and it helps me to boost my confidence.β β Lyra

End Racism -- notion passed!
Team 4
Team 1, 2, 3, 4--we declare a slogan war! Each group invented their own short phrase to display what they think about ocean conservation and further protecting the aquatic environments. In doing so we learned that when we are preserving the well-being of the shore, we are also preserving the well-being of ourselves.

Keystone World Cup 2015
We are so proud of two of our Summer Work Travel participants from Jamaica who started a World Cup soccer league in Keystone, South Dakota this summer. They formed six teams of J-1 exchange visitors, each representing their home country, and gained support of local businesses and the local community. We hope that this is a tradition that will carry on in Keystone for years to come.
