From NWNC: The North Westwood Neighborhood Council has a vacant resident seat on its board! Open to any resident of Westwood Village, UCLA, or Persian Square.

The Neighborhood Council meets once per month and is the area's voice on important issues like housing, transportation, homelessness, and more: https://www.northwestwoodneighborhoodcouncil.org

The Stream of Mind Lab invites you to join our interdisciplinary workshop on “Communicating within the self,” featuring speakers and discussions probing intrapersonal communication: What it really means, how it compares and contrasts with interpersonal communication, how we should measure it, how it connects with topics ranging from language to mental health to selfhood to consciousness...and why it’s a topic that warrants our attention.

Submit your research poster to showcase at the Graduate Research Showcase on April 11th!

All topics are welcome. Whether you’re presenting preliminary findings or showcasing completed research, we welcome all contributions. The deadline for submissions is fast approaching, so be sure to submit your poster by this Friday, April 5th.

We’ll be awarding multiple prizes for the best audience-choice posters. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain recognition for your work and win some exciting prizes!

The Graduate Research Showcase is a lively event designed to spotlight the inventive and groundbreaking research conducted by graduate students at UCLA. This event goes beyond the typical poster session format, fostering inclusivity across various majors and schools.

This event is an excellent opportunity for graduate students—whether pursuing a master’s, doctoral, or professional degree—to share their research with peers, other students, members of our community, and recruiters. Alongside poster sessions, diverse presentation formats are welcomed to accommodate all disciplines. Showcasing your research would allow others to become familiar with fields outside of your own, find links between research in multiple fields, network with faculty, employers, alumni, and perhaps leading to new collaborations on campus!

SACNAS at UCLA is hosting Dr. Claudio Villanueva for their Lunch with Professors series this Tuesday, March 12th from 12pm-1:30pm at BSRB 154. The Lunch with Professors series strives to provide a casual environment for students and post-docs to learn about the academic journey of a professor.
