Drove past an old abandoned building in Tonopah, Nevada. Couldn’t help but wonder what this was back in the old western days.

Little history of Tonopah. Nicknamed the Queen of the Silver Camps for its mining-rich history, it is now primarily a tourism-based resort city, notable for attractions like the Mizpah Hotel and the Clown Motel(both haunted and a little creepy).

🍓Baked Strawberry Oatmeal Cups

Ingredients: Serves 14

4¼ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup vanilla protein powder
¼ cup coconut sugar or brown sugar
2½ cups skim milk or unsweetened almond milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
⅓ cup pure maple syrup
1 cup diced strawberries

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a standard muffin tin with 12 paper liners, or coat with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine oats, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, protein powder, and sugar. Stir in milk and maple syrup and combine well. Gently fold in strawberries with a rubber spatula.
Using a ¼ cup measure, scoop oatmeal mixture into prepared muffin tin, stirring between each scoop to recombine ingredients. (The milk and oats tend to separate if not remixed between scoops.)

Bake 20 minutes, or until edges begin to golden.
Cool muffins in tins for several minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy! Muffins can be frozen for several weeks. Simply place in resealable freezer bags, seal, and freeze.

To serve: Thaw for 2 hours at room temperature or microwave on high for 10 seconds.

Let the presence of the natural light help you decide on a paint color.

I always recommend you choose multiple colors that you want, tape them to your wall and take time to decide what color best suits that room. Lighting, weather, and time of day can all be factors for how the color actually looks in the room.

Sometimes getting a color sample and trying it in the room will help with the final decision, if you’re stuck on a few.

After bringing these samples home and putting them up, I already have my top three!
