A Cara Cara decided to hang out for 30 minutes and completely ignore being harassed by a mocking bird! It was an awesome watch even when being pecked at!

Hi folks
just been reading some of the "information" on both videos and articles published by folks who see both sides of the

Some of the Key Points to me were NOT THE COST as I wanted it to be well appointed as I was going to live in it at the time!
Times change as well as relationships!

My focus was on

- making the thing mobile for my future and coming up with solutions to do that and with a view to selling that concept at a later date - I also wanted the flexibility of adding to them over time if I decided to leave them where they were.

in that I had choices, many choices about exactly how they could be configured and if I wanted to change my mind - I could!
This was later proven when my initial supporter changed his mind!

- using the physical systems of the earth to help guide my design and use all the info available to build it effectively for my circumstances - The heat, humidity, and wind of South Texas. Looking at the effects of Radiation, Convection, and Conduction on my grand plans while researching effective solutions using non-traditional sources - asking builders is a waste of time unless it's a direct building problem. I had to look at where I was, what it was like, and what I wanted - not follow the rest of the sheep!

- easy first step No stairs as I am getting older and don't want to deal with them and, like stacking containers, costs rocket when you start making staircases within or outside containers - there are some classic videos out there on this like the container home build in 15 minutes speed video - wow - the cost on that build must have been $$$ enormous - the amount of labor and steel was immense - not to mention building it out like a traditional home afterwards - which I think is the most pointless waste of containers! after all - if you are using a concrete base pad that is plumbed and then putting a container home on it - I think you are sorta missing the point! - just saying.
and my design was going to use the wind to introduce a gentle breeze as well as the doors on the containers as protected growing spaces - That's why I bought Open Sider, single trip 20ft containers!
people said I was mad at the time as I could have put that money into a traditional home - err yes, and I already owned a piece of land, but then relationship failure entered the picture and things changed.
So I changed with them

The article I read, and there are a few, was called "the unfortunate truth about Container homes"

so can I quote the famous line from Terminator? "The future is not set, there's no fate but what we make for ourselves"

There is only truth about building a container home - YOURS

if you want to build it for yourself -

selling it is a different conversation as its cost controlled for profit and that decides the design
If you are renting it - for profit, time and cost decide design of you have a repayment timeline unless you have lots of money (then its a folly)

so I hope this gives you a better perspective - if not buy a container, put a toilet in it and think for a while.
