Last week, The Craftery DIY Studio & Bar in Nulu Marketplace hosted our January City Information meeting. This monthly meeting brings together hoteliers from around the city and a few of our attraction partners.

Presentations were given by The Craftery, Five Iron Golf, Louisville Food Tours, and the KFC Yum! Center. Louisville Tourism staff also shared about upcoming conventions and events, exciting updates in the news, and more.

Louisville Tourism would like to congratulate Heather Terra on her Shining Star Award! While working at the Airport Welcome Center, Heather went above and beyond to assist an international visitor who had lost her purse, containing her passport, ticket, and wallet. Heather’s dedication led to the discovery that the purse was stolen, not lost. Thanks to her persistence, the visitor was able to catch her flight, and the thief was apprehended. Heather’s actions turned a potential nightmare into a memorable experience, showcasing the true spirit of Louisville’s hospitality. Thank you, Heather!

🎉 A win for UofL Students and a win for Louisville 🎉

We at Louisville Tourism are thrilled to announce the launch of a new minor in Hospitality at the University of Louisville, made possible through a generous donation from the Louisville Hotel Partnership! A joint venture between UofL, LHP, and LT, this is a huge step forward in enhancing educational opportunities and preparing the next generation of leaders in the vibrant and ever-evolving hospitality industry.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked a momentous occasion—a culmination of years of hard work, collaboration, and dedication. We are so proud of what we’ve accomplished together and look forward to seeing the impact this new program will have on students, the city of Louisville, and the hospitality sector as a whole.

We heard from key leaders such as UofL CoB Interim Dean Jeff Guan, Louisville Tourism President & CEO Cleo Battle, Louisville Hotel Partnership Board Chair Eamon O’Brien, President of the Louisville Hotel Association David Greene, UofL CoB Board Chair Camilla Schroeder, UofL CoB Department Chair & Professor Ryan Quinn, and VP of Business Outreach and Investor Development at GLI Dean Schlader. Each shared their enthusiasm and gratitude to be a part of today’s event.

David Greene said it best yesterday morning; while this is a great step forward, there is still work to do! Students are our future and we must keep investing in their success.

Here’s to new beginnings, exciting opportunities, and a bright future in hospitality!
