We got a quiet moment at our sister co before a tasting and a day out in bourbon country to kick off the hard rush of Derby weekend. The owners actually had the idea for a tasting room because our clients kept asking for brand-agnostic tastings and five years ago, there weren’t a ton of options. Now it’s a bar and event space with its own life and vibe so different from ours that gives our guests a chance to see the Louisville we really live in and love (where, you will be shocked to hear, bourbon at 10am is not ALWAYS the norm). Raising a glass this Thurby to the locals, bartenders, hospitality workers, front desk and guest services and BOH folks, janitorial services and small businesses, the drivers, including ours, pulling doubles all weekend so people drink safely, and everyone else who keeps the city running this weekend so we can have the best experience.
