Day 5 of 7 wrap up 🎉
Here’s all my random thoughts:
1. The days are starting to blur
2. Guys. I almost napped instead of going to the rental. I wanted to so bad. But here’s the proof we made more progress.
3. Things that are always dusty and dirty when you’re renovating: shoes, phone, and hair. Gotta keep applying lotion or ya hands might crack 😳
4. Finished the tiling tonight! Basically it got finished because there were three of us. Also I think all tiling should be sponsored by @sharetealouisville because I think I’ve gone there 3 of the 5 days.. we know they are the real mvp 🧋
5. Tiling is fun, can’t lie. I mean the whole tub surround can be a lot, you have to space it out and let it dry so it doesn’t get too heavy, but still so fun.
Okay that’s all. Tomorrow will be such a fun day, grout! And putting back some of the room, I think by tomorrow night things will start to look complete. Or I hope! 🤞🏼
Day 3 of 7 wrap up! 🎉
Whew!
Here’s a full look at the flooring process, it’s only 10 steps, nbd
1. Cleaning the area really well, no chunks or dust or anything, we need a smooth surface. Then wash the floor. 🧼
2. Lay out all the tiles, no mortar. Just lay it all out and get your spacing down and cuts out of the way. Trust me, best decision ever to do it before you mix the mortar. My husband cut all the pieces while I measured them, definitely helpful to have two sets of hands 👐🏼
3. Mortar and tile, ya know? Take your time and do it well. Place one tile at a time, use your spacers, get all the sides adjusted and keep adding more and more tiles until you’ve done the whole space.
4. Let it dry overnight 🌙
5. Clean all the grout lines and wash the tiles. If I could’ve reminded myself to clean them last night before the mortar set on the tops of the tiles, I would’ve spared myself an hour today. But ya know, we always have areas to improve lol
6. Mix your grout and get started. By far my favorite step. Fill all the holes (wiping diagonally) and use the floater to wipe excess.
7. Let it sit for 15 minutes or so to set ⏱️
8. Wash and wipe, over and over. Clean your sponge as much as possible to get off all excess 🧽
9. Buff the tile and let it dry over night 🌙
10. Seal it!
Loving the progress each day but wow my 5 month pregnant body is feeling it! We have a short term rental guest checking in in less than a week so we have to keep pushing forward and keep to the timeline!

Day 1 has begun for the bathroom renovation! We decided to shut down the rental for a week to flip this bathroom. Big project but definitely excited for the transformation!
Can’t wait for the continued progress! We’ve had so many successes so far, much to be grateful for!
