UPDATE: ADOPTED! Hi everyone! My name is Biscuit and I am an adorable, 11-year-old Shih Tzu looking for a family that will pamper me for the rest of life! I came to the Kentucky Humane Society because my owner wanted a lap dog and I am more of an independent guy. My shelter friends really love me and say I am cuddly enough for them though! A few things you should know about me up front- I am mostly deaf and have limited vision but I get around great and seem to see well enough to not bump into things. When I arrived at KHS, I had really inflamed and itchy skin so I will need to be on allergy meds for the rest of my life to remain comfortable and itch-free. I have also getting medicated baths to soothe my skin and I feel so much better already! My favorite things are a big, soft bed (I love long naps!), soft pate dog food and doggy massages. Being at KHS is like going to the spa! All the staff pamper and love on me! I will go potty if you take me outside and usually need to go right after a big nap, but I sometimes forget to tell my friends I need to go. I just need a patient family that give me all the love and medical care I need to be a happy senior guy! If you are looking for a low-key friend that is as cute as a teddy bear, then I may be the one for you! I mostly ignore other dogs and have coexisted well with them while at the shelter. I am neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Come see me at the Main Campus, 241 Steedly Drive!

Travel Tip Tuesday~~There's no LEGAL recourse for canceled flights. With domestic flights that are delayed or canceled, passengers have no legal right to compensation. The DOT enforcement policy is to require a refund if the flight is canceled or significantly delayed, but the policy is NOT legally enforceable by passengers themselves. Passengers have no legal rights and the airlines are not legally required to provide meals or hotel vouchers in case of cancellations. Some airlines may have a policy of offering these amenities but there is no way to force them to do so if they decline. This information comes from a well known Washington based lawyer specializing in travel law, Mark Pestronk. So, trip insurance sounds pretty good now doesn't it, even on a domestic vacation. Always, take the trip insurance.

Travel Tip Tuesday~~Many things are different in Europe than what we are used to here in the U.S. That's one of my reasons for loving to travel there. Here are a few differences:
They don't speak your language. Really? Many people that work with travelers do speak English, in the rural areas, not so much. It is also taught in many of the schools in Europe. Try and learn a few words in the local language before you go.
Portion sizes will be smaller. In the U.S. we super size everything. In Europe, you might have fewer options and smaller portions. This is a great time to try the local fare and be adventurous.
Ice. Typically not served with your beverage and usually no refills. I know, I know they feel ice dilutes the drink.
Things are a bit slower. You may be surprised by the relaxed attitude other countries have towards schedules and some close in the afternoon to rest.
Lastly, football in Europe is Soccer. They are as passionate about their teams as we are.
