Oak Tree Tales-Cindy Seeley Graves Oh, if the trees could talk…what fantastical stories they could tell! All handmade by me in my little elfin home studio/workshop in Loveland, CO.

The wind often catches my thoughts then twists & turns the inspiration into a variety of creations! Primarily I work in fibers but it is not beyond me to bring in other media as the wind changes. Most are original designs and/or patterns transpired from a wish or a gift for family/friends (Snazzy Snow Urchins) or a necessity from a need (Smitten Mittens) and then demand grew from requests by other

s. Some items serve a practical use with a touch of whimsy and some are just for the sheer whimsical delight of its existence! I strive to utilize 'upcycled' materials and vintage ornamentation (Bloomin’ Brooches)-think green! You'll find my pieces incorporate not only re-purposed materials but also draw from a period techniques such as crazy/scrap quilting, ‘boiled wool’, knitting, hand needlework, among others. Oh my! ‘I spy’….monkeys, monsters, martins, space ships, stars, Bob, Pooh, puppies…and an ‘I Love Mommy’ & ‘I Love Daddy! All sure to capture a little prince’s attention and imagination! Twelve crazy quilt squares of pastel and vibrant solids and prints jumping with numerous whimsical images to seek & find! Contrasting hues, in a variety of blues and yellows, are bordered by sunshine yellow for visual stimulation. Crazy squares are constructed of quilting cottons, cotton flannels and ultra soft fleece then bordered by ultra soft fleece adding a textural quality to entice curious minds and touchy, feely fingers. Backing is soft cotton flannel – white with dots of baby blue and yellow - all bordered with a strong serpentine machine stitch. Measures 34” x 43” of high quality contemporary 100% cotton fabrics with fluffy poly batting. Machine pieced and top-stitched with hand ties for durability.
