Happy birthday, Walt Disney! He was born on this day in 1901!

Did you know Walt had a private apartment above the fire station in Disneyland? He and his family would often stay overnight in it. Since his passing, there is always a lamp (or small Christmas tree) on in the window of the fire station to keep Walt’s presence alive in the park.

Guests can visit the apartment as part of a behind the scenes tour at Disneyland. My family took the tour last year, and it was so special to see this amazing part of Disney history!

Details were released today for Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Treasure! The Treasure has an “adventure vibe” vs the “castle at sea vibe” of its sister ship, the Disney Wish.

2️⃣ “Coco” themed dining room with live musical performances
3️⃣ a brand new Broadway style show that’s yet to be announced

Happy September 1, friends! If you know me in real life, you know that fall is not my “thing” (long live summer). But if anything will get me excited for fall, it’s Disney Halloween decor!

Last October, my family sailed on the Disney Dream - it was a Halloween on the High Seas sailing and was packed full of Halloween fun. Families are encouraged to dress up for trick or treating (we kept it basic but some people went all out!) and there are Halloween themed activities throughout the cruise!

Don’t let this happen to you!

If you’ve traveled with me in real life, you know that I hate to check luggage! I’m terrified of airlines losing my luggage. My family of 4 went to Europe for nearly 3 weeks with only 4 carryon suitcases and 4 large backpacks (see photo)… I promise it’s doable!

Here are my tips for packing to avoid checking luggage:
⭐️ roll your clothes vs folding - it saves so much space
⭐️ use packing cubes to keep clothing items organized
⭐️ plan on doing laundry at some point during your stay - we utilized the laundry facilities on our cruise (about a week into our trip), but you can use hotel services or a local laundromat
⭐️ stick to clothing items that can “mix and match” to give more options
⭐️ travel size bottle of Febreeze to freshen up clothing in order to wear more than once
⭐️ bring collapsible duffle bags to check on the way home - we stuffed our dirty laundry into those so we had room to bring souvenirs home in our carryons
⭐️ if you do have to check luggage, make sure you put an AirTag in the suitcase so you can track it

BREAKING DISNEY NEWS!!!

Beginning January 9. 2024 - the Disney Dining Plan is BACK!! This popular add-on has not been available since the parks closed in 2020 due to the pandemic. I know many of my repeat clients will be thrilled to hear this news!

There are other exciting changes happening next year that will bring things back to "normal" at Walt Disney World, including no need for park reservations!
