Pregnancy can be a scary time for women as it filled with unknowns. Support and care are pivotal during this time. At the Nurturing Center, we accompany women on their journey by giving them free services, resources, and guidance. Help us help them by donating on this Giving Tuesday through the Community Foundation portal: https://cfwtx.salsalabs.org/givingtuesdaywtx22/p/nurturingcenter/index.html
Giving Tuesday is TOMORROW! Our portal closes tomorrow at midnight. Help us reach our $7,000 goal so we can continue to help the women and babies of our Lubbock community. It is important to change the cultural mindset surrounding motherhood. Mothers do so much for their children- they deserve to be supported, appreciated, and honored.
Sometimes women think that when they become pregnant their life and dreams are over. Society gives women these messages by not hiring moms or not having adequate maternity leave. Sometimes people look down on women with babies. Sometimes men don't step up to their fatherhood role. Motherhood becomes really challenging for women who find themselves isolated or forgotten about.
If we are to support pregnant women, we must support mothers who are working or staying at home raising their babies. In this way, we create a culture that empowers women and champions mothers.
How can you support or appreciate a mom in your life today?
