Frequently Asked Questions?
1. Do I need to be an experienced runner to compete?
No! You don't need to be a runner to get started. Some prep work to make it through is recommended. This is a beginners dream. The event is not timed, families and children are welcome. Serious runners should note that heats will be released in groups of 50 every 10 minutes.
2. What time do I need to be there?
The earlier you arrive the better. It helps to be early. Registration fees increase as the day of the event draws near so register early and be early on the day of the run! When you register early you are guaranteed a race shirt, bib and a runner's finisher medal to hang proudly around your neck.
3. Should I be concerned about the colored powder?
Protect yourself. From the beginning of the run, all the way to the end of the run, there will be safe & non-toxic corn starch dye coming from all directions, so wear suitable white clothing, eye protection & a scarf or bandana & mask to reduce dye from entering your eyes and mouth. All runners must wear shoes and make sure to keep any valuables sealed in plastic bags. When going through our color stations, runners in the middle of the lane will receive less dye.
4. What should I bring?
Bring a buddy or friend! This is a fun run dominated by costumed teams, groups of friends, groups of families and individuals.
5. Will the powder stain my clothes?
It may only be colored corn starch but as stated, it will stain clothing. Most runners wear their t-shirt and if you have blonde hair, you may want to wear a hat or you will be washing the color out for a few days. There will be cleaning stations past the finish line that consist of an air blower, but do bring your own towels, plastic sheets or a change of clothing to go home in. The main parking lot is close and you can run back and forth to your vehicle as needed for items.
