Opening Ceremonies begin Friday at 5:30. Immediately following will be the athlete tailgate both events are hosted at the Liberty Indoor Football Facility.

Koreanz K-BBQ & Korean Comfort Food is the place for delicious, authentic Korean dishes in the most welcoming atmosphere. Whether it’s sweet, savory, or smoky, every menu item is truly mouthwatering and full of flavor! 😋💛

Fireworks on the Riverfront is this Friday, July 5! We can't wait to see the LYH skies glowing at this family-friendly event hosted by Downtown Lynchburg Association. Read below for some really important reminders! ✨🎇

🎤Want to enjoy the show but avoid the crowd? Take advantage of the additional watch zones including concessions and karaoke at Point of Honor - hosted by Endstation Theatre Company at Randolph College.

🚧Due to construction, this event looks a little different than years past - everyone should consider bringing a lawn chairs to enjoy the firework display as blankets may not be suitable on the lawn or blacktop. The Riverfront Lot will be closed from 3-10 PM.

🍔There will be 10 food trucks available around Riverfront Park during the event. Additionally, you can enjoy two beer gardens hosted by The Water Dog and Depot Grille Lynchburg.

🔥The main stage (located in Riverfront Park) will feature Social Distance Band from 6-8:30 PM along with dazzling performances by fire throwers and stilt walkers.

🧩Beat the heat and enjoy extended hours at Amazement Square until 8pm! Then head outside around dark (approximately 9pm) to watch the firework display.

‼️Please be sure to abide by park rules including: Alcohol is prohibited except in designated areas. No glass containers. Pets must be restrained on a leash at all times.

“The Hill City is proud of celebrating our communities' diversity and fostering a sense of unity among all residents and visitors. However, recent national events and discussions have raised concerns about the potential misuse of events like our International Festival.

Out of an abundance of caution for public safety, I made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s festival after extensive consultation with our public safety officials, city leadership, the event’s planning committee, and others.

While there have not been any immediate threats to our community or this event, we believe it is our responsibility to act with caution and prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved. Please know that this decision was not made lightly. Our primary goal is to ensure that our city remains a welcoming place for all.”

Exciting news! 🎉🌟 Construction for the new amphitheater and overall improvements to Riverfront Park are underway! Yesterday was the official groundbreaking ceremony, marking the start of new features to come Downtown.

Improvements include:
🎸 Destination amphitheater capable of hosting national touring acts
🚻 Permanent public restrooms
🛝 New playground, in partnership with the Kiwanis Club
🌿Shade canopy and additional landscaping
