This past week, I had the pleasure of traveling to Florida to begin a whole-house furnishing project for an existing client of mine! This one is extra special, as it’s not for rental/Airbnb purposes; it’s their personal vacation home (a custom new-build home, too). This meant an entire trip was dedicated to just consulting and project design (trying to gauge their style, likes/dislikes, scope, etc). So basically, we looked at a bunch of beautiful stuff for 3 days😂.

Stay tuned as we work to get this beautiful home furnished and ready for my clients to arrive for their Winter holiday vacation🌴

This gem has arrived on the STR market on behalf of a collaboration between two local hospitality boss babes, Sherry with Urban Nooks, and Emily with StayLux. Sherry, a ‘OG’ in the Seattle STR market and operator of dozens of Urban Seattle luxury properties – and Emily, a hospitality professional that manages a unique portfolio of the largest and most unique properties in the PNW, teamed up to find and launch the next uniquely-luxurious vacation rental estate in the Pacific Northwest. Welcome to Chateau Wisteria, a 10,000sf Mediterranean-inspired luxury Villa in Wenatchee, Washington; less than 20 minutes to Leavenworth!

This was an off-market property being sold wholesale. It had some interior fire damage and was being sold as-is, where-is. Furthermore, this was happening during a time that the application process was closing for potential future STR operating permits in the newly-regulated Chelan County area. Although this project came with significant risk, we knew the reward on the other side would be worth it – but would require A LOT of work, and an extreme amount of patience.

This property was acquired via wholesale in May of 2022 and Sherry immediately applied for the STR Permit with the County. The fire damage was repaired and turned into a game/arcade room (a 2-month process). Rehab, cleaning, furnishing, staffing and professional photos were completed by October of 2022. Since then, it’s been a long process of inspections, sign-offs, compliance and lots of waiting.

Finally, 11 months after purchase...the STR permit has been approved and issued, and Chateau Wisteria is officially available for short-term rental on VRBO and Airbnb!

Well, I clearly I manifested some good energy...as the winners of the property called me just days later, we met for lunch and well, the rest is history. Last but not least, a big shout-out of gratitude to my team at StayLux for moving mountains and making real miracles happen! We are only 6 weeks into this project, but we've already racked up over 1,000 hours on site (double that for office and drive time) getting this property overhauled, furnished, inventoried, organized, cleaned, prepped...and now we work on launch mode. My mind is still blown every day that I've been blessed with these amazing opportunities and that I have such an incredible team willing to take on what many would consider "impossible". Seriously, team work makes the dream work (my fav quote of all time) and I can't be thankful enough to be surrounded by the most encouraging and aspiring people everrr! 2022 was the year of growth at StayLux! What’s wild is, that we can never predict or prepare the projects that come our way…so much of the time, we spend pivoting…which makes for some crazy days and months. This year, we performed or consulted on 9 different start-ups/properties, took on sole management of 2 new properties (with 3 more on the VERY near horizon), and just recently, manifested and earned our biggest project yet (stay tuned; coming soon)!

We couldn’t be more thankful to all of our teams, clients, staff, guests, partners, vendors and everyone else who have given us the ultimate support and encouragement in building StayLux into the successful business that it is today! Cheers to 2023 and the adventures ahead🤩
