@sipseywilder in action! Dorky video, but I absolutely LOVE my SW products so much, I decided to make a little commercial for them on location in Puerto Rico. I literally use their bags EVERY day!
I am SO excited! I just completed my travel plans for my next Puerto Rico trip coming up in April....read on and try not to be jealous!
If you want me to plan a trip like this for YOU, hit me up in my DMs!
Day 1: my hubby, 9 year old daughter and I arrive in Puerto Rico, rent a jeep (BEEP BEEP JEEP) and spend our first night in the swanky Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort in Luquillo
Days 2-6: head over to Rincon and spend 4 nights in an Airbnb ON the ocean. The beach is literally our backyard. We will be taking surf lessons, meeting with a local herbalist, heading to Crash boat beach, hitting the town of Rincon, enjoying the sunset from our balcony, falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean, and basically bumming around together.
Day 6: I drop my family off at the airport and have the next FOUR nights to myself on the island because I deserve it! 😊
The first two nights I will be staying in a private room at a surf hostel on the north coast in Dorado, hopefully hitting the owner up for a private tour.
Day 7: Arenal River and Cave tour with Puerto Rico as a Local!
Day 8: Head back over to Luquillo and spend 2 nights in a dorm room at The Surfing Turtle a surf hostel in Luquillo...my first time ever staying in a true hostel...I'm super excited and a little nervous.
Day 9: Discover Scuba and Snorkel tour to Culebra with aqua adventures
Day 10: heading home

The promised love making turtles from Homestead, FL! 😅❤️🌺
What is the best souvenir you've ever snagged?
My daughter and I found this gem at PlayaSol souvenier shop on our way into El Yunque Rainforest on HWY 191 in Puerto Rico (a fantastic place to stop!).
We bought it specifically for her dad! Here's the story: A few years ago, we were visiting Robert Is Here Fruit Stand and Farm in Homestead, Florida. They have this great little petting zoo behind the fruitstand. It has a LOT of tortoises...and they are all humping eachother...and they make the funniest noises when they hump! So, this was a fantastic souvenir that reminded us of two awesome vacations!
Circle back tomorrow (or better yet, follow me!!!), and I'll share a video of those humping tortoises! 🤣

Who is the DJ on your Roadtrips?!
On our Road Trip to Puerto Rico, I was lucky enough to be traveling with young adults half my age. One of the perks: a built-in DJ!
My 23 year old daughter put together a 19 hour Spotify playlist for the trip. It was AMAZING!!! Music across all genres and eras. Of course, being from the Midwest, one of the car faves was Out For a Rip!
Just in case you want some inspiration for your next trip: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0S2sOH60VVTgyHhLi9IOLn?si=ef28bc96ea114980

We just got back from a 12 Day Multi-generational Roadtrip through Puerto Rico. It was perhaps the most amazing (and surprisingly unstressful!) trip I've ever taken!
Some highlights were:
1. The amazing people I travled with!
2. Sunbathing and splashing in waterfalls and fresh water pools
3. Floating in the ocean at night and gazing at the stars
4. Taking a surfing lesson
5. Witnessing the grandeur of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the North Coast
6. Wandering around Old San Juan

Puerto Road Trippin' Day 2 (Continued): Casa Cubuy Ecolodge
After La Chocolatera we headed to our next stop: Casa Cubuy Eco Lodge on the southern edge of El Yunque. This place is a shear delight. It is situated above the beautiful Rio Cubuy; and is owned and cared for by a mother and her son.
This is another place that you can tell is loved. It reminds me of a quaint jungle hotel out of the 1950’s. There is nothing new or fancy about this place, but is clean, maintained and cared for.
The trail to the river is a neatly maintained switch back that takes about 5 minutes to descend. There is a shared commercial kitchen with a bin just for your food in the fridge! The kitchen overlooks the river valley and the large patio opens up to the sky.
After last night’s lodging fiasco, we were thrilled to be staying with some old school professionals in the jungle!
If you’re looking for 5 star accommodations, this is not the place. If you’re looking for off the beaten path charm, an amazing view and not very many people; this is YOUR place.
This is one of those places that helps humans reconnect to the Earth. You can feel it. It’s not just in the rocks and the water; but also in the owners. They feel very much of this place. They were not born here, but Marion, the matriarch, has lived in Puerto Rico since the 60’s and spent her career working as a school teacher on the island. She kindly and patiently showed us all the ins and outs of their place upon arrival.
We unloaded our stuff and were going to take a rest, but the river beckoned! We couldn’t stay away. We quickly got changed and headed down to the river. We quickly connected with our inner geckos and spent hours jumping from rock to rock to rock, over waterfalls, through pools; up the river as far as we could; and then when some friends joined us down the river until we were too exhausted to continue. Ahhh… the bliss of a well used body. After tiring ourselves out, with surprising energy, we
