How did we get here?
With a 3.8% unemployment rate, matching the 2000 rate and the lowest since 1969/70, the United States is currently STARVING for workers in just about every conceivable field. How exactly did we get to the point of having so many homeless people in America? Studies confirm, if you continually hand out freebies to animals, animals will eventually get to the point of no longer be able to hunt, forage and otherwise take care of themselves. Are we training our own citizens to the be the same? Drive through Boone County and take a look at the homeless situation. Look into the tent cities. Look on Main Street in Madison, or more pointedly, take a look down the back alley. We’re beginning to see what’s been going on in bigger cities for decades. It’s spreading out into the rural areas. People don’t care for the concept of putting the spotlight on this problem. People don’t care for the idea of posting pictures of hikers, campers, backpackers, homeless, and poverty when we’re doing so to identify and keep track of the hikers as a form of security against predators. While some of the hikers may not (currently) have any desire to commit criminal acts, if you stop feeding the animals in those other scientific studies, what do you think the animals will resort to?
Jobs are available. Every. Single. Day. Those that choose to live this life vs. those simply down on their luck, won’t work for a living. They choose to take the handouts, to live off of other people’s money and to accept charity and tax payer dollars over going to work and earning the money. Of course, there’s a percentage that are unable to work. I postulate, if they’re capable of hiking all day, they’re capable of sweeping a floor and earning a dollar.
