Travel Tips for Open Sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway 🍃
We are happy to welcome visitors to open sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway! Fall is a busy time on the Parkway, and we want to help your visit be safe and enjoyable! As Hurricane Helene recovery efforts continue, your experience may differ from normal, but we appreciate your patience and understanding. As of Oct. 25, the Parkway is open in Virginia between milepost 0 and milepost 200.1. The Parkway is open in North Carolina from milepost 285.5 to milepost 305.
🍂Help your trip run smoothly by planning in advance.
Know before you go! Visit our website for up-to-date information on road status and facility closures. Many sections in North Carolina remain closed for Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.
🍂Be cautious and patient as you navigate and expect traffic delays.
Worth the wait! We are expecting extremely high visitation for fall color viewing. Patience is key, areas will be backed up and navigation will be difficult. Everyone deserves an opportunity to view our beautiful park, so please be kind to other visitors.
🍂Support local businesses and communities.
The Parkway experience often includes time in our neighboring communities. Plan ahead to find local shops, restaurants, and businesses that are open and welcoming visitors. Many hotels and lodging properties are currently assisting displaced families, aid workers, and construction crews. Your support is appreciated!
🍂Respect recovery efforts and closed sections.
Our crews are working hard behind the closed gates! These sections are closed for all uses. We truly appreciate your cooperation. Respecting closures helps keep our crews and visitors safe.
🍂Make the best of your visit!
We’re happy to have you on America’s Favorite Drive. Thank you to all of our visitors for your continued support.
