WORLD OKAPI DAY: Today is the day! People around the world are helping bring awareness to the elusive, and enigmatic okapi. Rarely seen in the wild, the okapi is still relatively unknown outside of the continent of Africa. Today, we’re working to teach people that this beautiful animal exists and what we’re doing to help protect it. We’ll be sharing facts and unique tidbits throughout the day, so be sure to follow along and help spread the word.

Our professionals did an amazing job with the extraction. We received 31 straws for our future research of reproductive protocols on Nubian Ibex. Thawed one straw to check the swimmers and they were strong and concentrated.

It’s always a good day for a Nyla growth update! Our youngest giraffe now stands 10.5 feet tall at the ripe old age of 1.5 years. She is pictured with our most recent giraffe addition, Kenya. Thanks to their caretaker, Molly Shea, for the pic assist.

Helicopter Wildlife Services provided the aerial support for Wildcon Safaris and events, a company that raises funds in support of Rhino Conservation. This Capture was to dart and fit transmitters to two Black Rhino on a private game reserve in KZN
