Visited two wildlife parks in central India with six tiger sightings. At Kanha National Park we rode elephants to where a tiger was resting in the shade of low growing bushes. It was difficult sighting but thrilling nevertheless. I did get quite a few interesting photos and one short video. Here is the video of the dominant male tiger in the Kanha named "Munna."
Hi Folks,
I just return from an excellent three week trip to China and Tibet which included spending some quality time at Everest's North Face Base Camp. We had great weather and views of Everest were dramatic. Here is time lapse that I did at Everest base on the afternoon of Oct 4.
I am going to be posting more pictures from the trip soon, in the mean time you see some images and read the field dispatches at: http://www.destinationhimalaya.com/roofworld/index.php
Enjoy,
Sanjay Saxena
Destination Himalaya's founder Sanjay Saxena was on the Great Wall in July (rainy season) and did some time lapse photography that you are seeing in this video. The weather did not cooperate, so no moving clouds or lovely sunset, but its still a fun video.
He is heading back to China and Tibet next week. On the way to Tibet, Sanjay will once again be off in Beijing and spending a day on the Great wall. Planning on doing some time lapse sequences of the Great Wall (in better weather, we hope) as well as in Tibet of the Potala Palace and Everest North face. Check back again next month and see the latest video postings.
Fresh chapatis at a 'Dhaba.' Dhaba's were the answer to roadside stops for interstate truckers in India. Freshly cooked curries, bread and tea for everyone.
Pushkar Camel Fair
Short video clip of the Pushkar Camel Fair, that is held in Rajasthan, India every fall (Oct/Nov) for a 12 day period. I have been to the fair over a dozen times and never been rained on - 2010 was different - light rain for a number of days with an occasional heavy downpour. Despite the rain it was still a festive event. photos to follow shortly.
