Thankfully, the City of Manassas Department of Economic Development has produced a video that captures all of the varied aspects that make Manassas so special. Take a few minutes and check out this all encompassing video about our Manassas, and please feel free to share it with family and friends!

Today we remember, honor, and reflect upon all of the people and events on that fateful day on September 11, 2001. Most of us (depending on your age) will remember where we were and what we were doing on that day. It was a pivotal moment in our nation's history and in the lives of so many people. September 11, 2001 is also a time in our history that brought an entire nation together - politics didn't matter, differing viewpoints on any societal or community topic didn't matter - it was a time of unity and togetherness, no divide. Let us not forget that anything is possible when we stand and work together, and let us hope it never again takes a tragedy of that magnitude for us to stand strong together as a community, and as a nation. If you know someone that was directly affected on that day... reach out and say hello, let them know you're thinking about them today. That simple gesture might very well make this day much brighter than it may have otherwise been for that person.

Don't forget that there's a free event today (9/11/24) on the Manassas Museum lawn honoring those who gave all. You must register to attend: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/911-event-tickets-879738971947

Welcome to September's First Friday! Please see our previous post for all of the information for this evening's festivities. With that said, we have an announcement on behalf of most participating DORA establishments.

For tonight's First Friday (September 6th, 2024), all DORA establishments listed at the end of this post will be closing at midnight, with last call at 11:40PM. Additionally, CJ Finz and Zandra's will not be allowing anyone under the age of 21 into their establishment after 10PM.

All of this is in the interest of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for First Friday and for the patrons and staff of our DORA participating businesses. It is also to avoid any of the late-night disruptions and concerns from the past couple First Fridays. Zandra's said it best with, "We appreciate your understanding and support as we make this change for the well-being of our community."

We want First Fridays to be fun for the whole family, as they are intended to be, and hope everyone understands the balance that has to be struck to achieve this. We appreciate and thank you for understanding.

Establishments closing at midnight (or before, in no order):
CJ Finz
Zandra's Taqueria
The Bone
Mariachis Tequileria & Restaurant
Public House Kitchen & Brewery

Crossroads Tabletop Tavern
Grounds Central Station
Sinistral Brewing Company
Doug's Deli & Taproom

As we get closer to September's First Friday (This Friday, Sept. 6), we are sharing our DORA (semi) daily tips & info.
For our third tip in this series, we talk about, "Where are the restrooms?"

While some establishments will allow restroom use, you'll mostly be directed to the various restroom locations that we provide for each major event, including First Friday. Portable restrooms are designated by the red asterisk on the map. The location near Harris Pavilion is a public restroom that is available daily (it's locked overnights).

Please make sure to read our two previous tips if you haven't yet read them.

As we get closer to September's First Friday (Sept. 6), we are sharing our DORA (semi) daily tips & info.

For our second tip in this series, we would like to highlight the rules for being able to roam town with your alcoholic beverage within the DORA (see previous tip for our "What is DORA" explanation). You are only permitted to have an alcoholic drink contained within a participating establishment's logo cup (Sinistral Brewing Company cup used as an example). If you do not have your drink in an authorized logo cup, you will be asked discard your drink.

These items are not allowed:
- Outside alcohol
- Alcohol in bottles
- Alcohol in cans
- Outside coolers

If you have your alcoholic drinks in anything other than an authorized logo cup, you more than likely will be asked to discard your drink and/or take your cooler back home. It is against the established/mandated DORA rules to have your alcoholic drinks in anything other than an authorized logo cup. Please do not risk ruining a good time for shops, restaurants, bars, and other patrons by breaking these rules and risking our DORA licensing.

Upcoming Tip: Where are the public bathrooms?

As we get closer to September's First Friday (Sept. 6), we'd like to introduce our DORA (semi) daily tips & info.

We'll kick things off with the obvious question, what is "DORA"? DORA stands for, "Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area." This is the designated area in which you can purchase alcoholic drinks from a participating restaurant/bar, and freely walk around Historic Downtown Manassas with your drink. Included with this post is a First Friday map showing the designated area which you must remain within with your drink.

Upcoming Tip: What containers your drink is allowed to be in (and those that are not permitted).
