15 fun things to do in the Manitowoc area🌊
•Our downtown is filled with amazing local businesses! From boutiques to restaurants and little shops in between, you’re sure to have a great time walking around downtown!
•Manitowoc holds a lot of history. The Rahr West, Maritime Museum, and Pinterest Historical Society are great places to take a walk through our history.
•It’s not a visit to Manitowoc without Cedar Crest Ice Cream! Locally referred to as, “The Big Cow”, if you’re an ice cream lover, be sure to add this to your list
•Speaking of sweets, Beernsten’s Confectionary is a Manitowoc delicacy! Between the sandwiches, fine chocolates, and ice cream sundaes, there’s something here for everyone!
•Manitowoc offers several family- friendly activities. Strand Adventures has several amenities. From laser tag to a toddler area, an arcade, and so much more, this facility offers fun for all ages!
•Speaking of kids, The Manitowoc Public Library offers a second story just for kids. Let your kids explore indoors on a rainy day at no cost. They have books for all ages, computer activities, and hands on experiences as well.
•We have quite the selection of coffee shops in our area, all offering their own unique experience and atmosphere. Jenn’s Java offers a relaxing space to play games with friends, or a quiet place to get some work done. Retro on Eighth serves amazing açaí bowls and specialty coffee flights. Manitowoc coffee is a quaint shop located downtown with a full breakfast menu.
•If you’ve never tried an escape room, What The Lock should be on your agenda! They offer several themed rooms to give you a unique experience that’ll leave you wanting to do another
•Manitowoc offers several beaches such as Red Arrow and Silver Creek. If the lake is calling, be sure to enjoy a walk out to our local Lighthouse, located by the YMCA. The Maritime Trail runs along the Lake from Manitowoc to Two Rivers. Bikes, strollers, roller blades, and walkers are all welcome! If you’re looking for fun equipment rentals, stop at the Marina for kayaks and other outdoor activities.
•Spring and Summer bring beautiful flowers to the West of the Lake Gardens. This is a free experience and has been part of our community for decades.
•Schuette Park is a fun place for children of all ages to run around. It also features an area specifically for toddlers.
•Speaking of Schuette, Lower Schuette Park has a trail system that’s fun for all ages. Explore with a nature walk or ride your mountain bike for a unique experience.
•Two movie theaters are available for your enjoyment: AMC and the locally owned, Mikadow Theater
•If you’re in the mood for some incredible Wisconsin cheese, venture out to Pine River Dairy which is located a few miles away from our Manitowoc home. They offer the best locally made Wisconsin cheeses and 25cent ice creams!
•Love frisbee golfing? We have tons of courses in our area including Silver Creek Park and Indian Creek.
