Did you know that the Chicamacomico Life Saving Station was established back in 1874!? On top of being 150 years old, it is one of the seven original Life-Saving Stations to be built in North Carolina AND is the predecessor to the modern U.S. Coast Guard! Did you know that Jockey's Ridge has a secret sandcastle hidden beneath its shifting sands? It's part of a mini-golf course that sat atop the dunes in the 1970s and made occasional appearances over the years. This summer, the entire castle is visible!
