In Portage County, they supply a local source for stone throughout our communities. The OAIMA's supplies of minerals and construction materials is crucial for our roads, highways and pavements throughout the state. I thank you all for visiting this week as we passed the historic $13.5 billion transportation budget where your resources will pave the way for our infrastructure future!

Trunk or Treat this evening was a great time! We hope all of the kiddos were thrilled with their treasures out of the treasure chest.

We enjoyed seeing everyone, all of the costumes and getting out in the community for a fun event.
Thank you to the Portage County Sheriff’s Department for putting it together.

We brought home the “Best Effects” award for our display. Thank you to Tony and Theresa Stebel for volunteering their time to help us out at our display this evening.

We can’t wait to see you all again next year.

Day 1 - Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Awareness Week

In May of 2012, the Ohio General Assembly designated the third week of July as “Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Awareness week. This Act was passed “in order to educate the public about, increase public awareness of, and recognize the important contributions of the state’s aggregates and industrial minerals industry to construction and transportation and to the states economic viability and to recognize the industry’s environmentally responsible stewardship of the state’s resources.”
Each day during this week we will provide facts about this vitally important industry and the positive impact the members of the Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association (OAIMA) have on our economy, employment, and our daily lives.

Logan Spence in the Employee Spotlight!
Logan started just as soon as he was 18 and has been with us for the past 4 years.
He's gone from a quiet kid mowing lawns and landscaping to a heavy equipment operator, plant operator, and welder/fabricator. He comes in early, leaves late, and fills out his paperwork, all great qualities. Just about anything without cables or tracks he's qualified on, in just four years. Plenty more to learn and with his calm and cool approach, he'll likely master all the equipment we have here.

Lakeside would like to thank you all for coming out and sharing a beautiful day at the mine this past Saturday.
We had bus tours, equipment demonstrations, train rides, kids activities, great food, and thanks to your generosity we were able to raise over $10,000 for the Hattie Larlham Foundation!

Opportunity knocks!

Lakeside is looking for a small truck owner/operator to deliver anywhere from 1 to 10 tons of sand, gravel, topsoil, and boulders to local customers on an as needed basis. No raking or shoveling at the customer's location, but needs to be able to spread/tailgate a driveway.

If you're interested, please contact the main office at 330-274-2569 and ask to speak with Julee to set up a broker account.
