JOIN us for a Public Sea Turtle Release THIS Sunday, January 19th at Sombrero Beach in Marathon! Bring your family and friends to help cheer for “Jesus”, a juvenile green sea turtle that made an amazing transformation and is returning to his ocean home! Jesus was found struggling at the surface with a heavy load of fibropapilloma tumors off Key West in May of last year. Jesus was rescued and taken to The Turtle Hospital for treatment. Treatment included tumor removal surgeries, wound care, antibiotics, fluids, and vitamins. Jesus is strong and healthy and ready to return to sea! The Turtle Hospital ambulance will arrive at Sombrero Beach with the marine turtle at 3:15 pm with release at 3:30 p.m. See you there!
