Same captain, same boat, same effort, same trip for all practical purposes. One group met my minimum requirements for the activity, one was half of that on their longest dive. One group had a great time, one left without a goodbye. One tipped me 20%, the other nothing. For that reason repeated many times this season and in the past, new rate structure for lobster trips coming soon. It will be a win win when you can do what I need you to do on my lobster trips. The rest of you can go Publix and I will still get what I need for my investment and effort in your trip. I will still do a great job and you can do whatever you do on my lobster trips. I will smile and be professional all the way through each one under my new rate system . You better believe I got this figured out to never work against me again. Many of my 2024 lobster customers have absolutely murdered me for not being up to the task. Never again. It has been well earned by both parties. But….. my regulars, you are safe. Nothing changes for you. You like that? I got you.😉 All details will be on my website soon. The fix is coming for the problem.

It's no secret that TS Debbie just spent a few days passing through us and lobster season starts tomorrow. Lots of guests with trips coming up.....no check in call, no trip details in booking notes.......everybody look under your seats. You're all getting fishing trips!! Zero visibility for quite a while is to be expected.

Fished in the gap today. Didn’t get wet, caught plenty of fish that mostly swam away to fight another day. Got lucky again. Sky was captivating and dynamic. Felt nice to experience a cool breeze in July.

Several days of high winds has keep us mostly on the calmer bayside, but fishing has been pretty good. We managed to avoid most of the rain and put together some great catches, even in compromised conditions.

The easy fun family plan has been the theme the past few trips. Get your kids started with a kind and gentle start. Build them up to bigger and better things as they grow. You can’t run unless you know how to walk. My group today will step it up Thursday. I was super impressed and blown away by the help offered, the cooperative attitude, the genuine conversation and the thoughtfulness by the young anglers on board today. I wish my adult guests could bring this to my trips more often because it was a truly enjoyable trip that reminded me of how and why I built my business the way it is. Great parents make great kids. I’m excited for this family to come out with me again

A couple of bottom fish pics from the last trip. Back at it again tomorrow and I have availability this weekend. This deep fishery closes earlier every year, so come get yours while it is open and the weather is great. Conditions have been really good, so it’s game on!

It happened again today. Crushed the reef bite this morning with XL yellowtail and had a slow offshore segment until the last drift. Finished with 2 grouper and 2 dolphin on the final minutes of the last drift. Drama drift!

Mayday!! Mayday!! We skipped the shallows and went deep. Wasn’t a great day until the ocean gods rewarded us with a double header in overtime on our last drop. Only in the Florida Keys!!

The wind has been way up lately. It doesn’t mean cancel trips. It means compromise and get creative. Yesterday my group from France had a highly productive trip in pretty calm waters. We filled the box with mangrove snappers and a keeper mutton snapper and released some nice grouper, lady fish, an African pompano, sharks and tons of undersized snapper. Watch the wind forecast, give me a call and we can talk about a realistic plan for your trip.

Typical of people are here and want to play on the water. Winds have been up here and there, but usually an option exists to get my customers catching. Yesterday we elected the calm side of things with the focus on dinner and action. Checked that box and played with some big sharks too!

Solid reef trip today. We made it out to the edge of the reef in pretty reasonable conditions. Fish were not in the mood, but we managed to fill limits with hard work and patience.

Lumpy and bumpy today as expected. The easiest way to protect your trip in elevated seas….take a pill before you go to bed. Take a pill when you wake up. That’s it! I’ve been fighting that for 13 years. I never want my customers to find out the hard way, but advice is only good when taken.
