Each week we will feature a local business. This weeks local business is Expedition Bigfoot The Sasquatch Museum located in Cherry Log GA.

The Sasquatch Museum is 4000 sqft and features a variety of exhibits and displays focused on Bigfoot sightings, encounters, and evidence, with a particular emphasis on sightings reported in Georgia and the surrounding areas. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing footprint casts, eyewitness testimonies, photographs, and other artifacts associated with Bigfoot sightings.

The Big Canoe Family Fun Carnival is Saturday, July 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Playfield Park. There are a ton of fun surprises including gargantuan inflatables, carnival games, and plenty of souvenirs. After you grab lunch at the Clubhouse Grill tent, head to food trucks serving decorative funnel cakes, Kona Ice, cotton candy and more. We can't wait to celebrate with you! Fireworks will light up the sky over Lake Petit on Sunday, July 2, for our annual Independence Day weekend celebration open to the entire community. Watch the pyrotechnics, which start at about 9:45 p.m., from Playfield Park. Attendees are welcome to secure their viewing spots on the Playfield that day starting at noon. At 5 p.m., King of Pops will sell all-natural, handcrafted frozen dessert pops while the Clubhouse Beer Wagon will have draft beer and canned cocktails for purchase. DJ Kevin will turn up the music at 5:30 p.m. Wilderness Parkway will be closed to traffic along Lake Petit Dam from 4 p.m. until an hour after the Fireworks show. Winner, winner, golden trout dinner! James Meacham is the first person to reel in one of the golden trout stocked in Lake Petit this year. By catching Goldilocks the golden trout, James, who is visiting Big Canoe with his folks, receives a free two-hour pontoon rental.
