Safety first!

A lot of people look forward to this time of year! Some things to take note of when venturing out on the ice.
1. Always have a plan, including multiple forms of communication and a buddy system.
2. Pay attention to weather updates and the current ice conditions. It can change at a moments notice.
3. Wear proper personal protective equipment, including a life jacket.
4. No ice is safe ice!

Wow!!!

Last night was for one the ages at Marblehead Lighthouse.

An absolute iconic display from Mother Nature.

At the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower, the Northern Lights exploded across the sky into a mesmerizing collection of purple, pink, and green hues that reached most of the United States.

A friend of mine said he saw them in New Mexico!

For the photo nerds like me, this shot is 8 images, one for the northern lights and the rest captured the meteors, combined into one final shot.

I’m running on two hours of sleep but more photos and time-lapses to come soon.

When you are out of town and need a Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society fix!

During a winter storm, Seth, one of our volunteers, asked if we ever considered a we**am. We thought it was a great idea and about a month later the camera was installed. It’s great to watch on the pretty days, but it is fascinating to watch during a storm.
