With the weather warming, please keep in mind that the soft ground can be easily damaged.

While there are precious few opportunities to ride snowmobiles, please remember: Unless it’s explicitly allowed, snowmobile trails are not open for ATV use. Given the lack of snow, conservation officers are seeing more and more people trying to ride ATVs on snowmobile trails.

Trail Report Week 3

Sometimes progress is measured in very small increments. And, sometimes it seems to go backwards.

The weather has not been favorable lately. The cold has been modest with a number of extra warm days (48, 42) appearing here and there. 45 today. Nothing below zero which is what we badly need.

TRAILS: In the last two weeks we have gone from 0 inches to almost a full inch of snow. Whoopie!! See photo. And, with the mild temps the swamps are still swampy not frozen. Our trails have lotsa wet areas - we can't even get out to do inspections much less packing or clearing. They are nowhere near ready to ride.

LAKES: The ice is slowly getting thicker but those 40's don't help. We don't recommend lake travel until after we stake it which looks to be delayed a bit this year.

RIVERS: Rivers are a good thing to avoid right now.

It is too early to panic but maybe time to start thinking about it. After all real winter doesn't start until Dec 21. We've got a full week to go!!

Keep the faith. We have never recorded a brown Christmas!!

Here it is fellow beelers, we will keep y’all updated of conditions as they exist!
Right now we are in a best case scenario situation, cold before heavy snow!
Keep your fingers crossed and hope to ride sometime soon !!!

This Friday, Dec. 1, marks the official start of snowmobile season in Minnesota ❄️

However, regardless of the date, several conditions must be met before trails are open, groomed, and ready for travel:

🧊 The ground must be frozen. Where trails cross wetlands, 15 inches of ice is needed to support the weight of trail groomers.

❄️ Adequate snow cover of about 12 inches must be on the ground to allow for trail packing and grooming.

🪵 Trails must be cleared of fallen trees, signs put in place, and gates opened.

While snowmobilers await the arrival of groomed trails, now is a good time to make sure registrations are current and snowmobiles are in good operating order, review safety training, and check local trail maps for route changes or new trails.

10/19/2023

Hey Everybody!!!
Tonight was a great night for the club! A real nice turn out from notably, many of our long time members. We were discussing the prep for this coming season and I believe we took steps towards what may be one of the strongest club efforts ever!

So, October is Snowdrifters’ election month and I am happy to say that we have bolstered our Executive and Board staff. I welcome Craig Johnson to the board of directors, his help out on the trails has been unwavering over the years.

Ed retained the treasurer position. I can’t even explain how fantastic this is. The guy puts in absolutely the most into this club, I can’t imagine how we could do it without him.

I, will remain trail coordinator 😃 super stoked to be here again peeps!

The BiG news is,,, drum roll please!!!
Archie Wass was reinstated as your new club President!
I am so excited for this opportunity to work alongside of our returning long time friend and leader. Archie and Sandy Wass just continue and continue to devote to their loved community. We can’t thank you enough …🙌👍😃

All of us mentioned above were selected in what Jack Hilstrom called “a white paper election”!
I guess that’s what I would call uncontested ?😂
Roberts rules of decorum were never my strong point, but I think I was starting to get the hang of it right at the end there .

Dirk Devries has one year left as his term as vice president, and I hope he will continue beyond that.

Chris Sirucek has a year left on his term as secretary. I hope he stays on as well. He is a great addition to our club!

Sandy Wass continues as a board member. I don’t think this club would even be around today without her.

Jeff Powell , well, he and Jerry just do everything Upnorth and I hope they are there forever so we can ride on what they give us.
Jeff is trail coordinator.

Great turnout tonight and thank you to all that attended. We got a bunch of stuff done and a few laughs along the way. Congratulations to our new executive and board members.
Think Snow people! We will be ready!

These guys have been great!
Good luck on your next adventure Ryan and Jared!

In 2016 Jared and I moved from Seattle, WA to Marcell for our great adventure. The last seven years as owners of the Timberwolf has been the most influential period of our lives. We met amazing people and developed relationships with our staff & guests, but the time has come for our next great adventure. Our last day owning and operating will be tomorrow, April, 27th. We will be closing at 6:30 pm to do inventory.

We welcome The Ellis and Moskal families who will be opening their doors on Friday, April 28th at 11:00 am!

We are excited for the next chapter at the Timberwolf & we want to thank the community for their strong support throughout the years.

Hello Snowdrifters!!!
A little chart here showing our membership continues to expand!
Our new online renewal or new membership format is now fully functional! We will be unveiling plans to make joining or renewing even easier with a QR code that can be scanned at kiosks and business establishments.

The club received another amazing donation from the Junction Bar! Marv generously sent us $5000 from their charitable gambling funds!
Officers from the club will be making a trip out to Togo to thank them personally sometime soon .

The last meeting for the season will be tomorrow night Wednesday at 6:30 PM Marcell family center
