🇪🇺ETIAS delayed to late 2026!!! Those traveling to an EU country this year have no new requirements! 🥳

There was a recent update to when the EES and EITAS will become implemented. EES is currently scheduled to be implemented in Oct of 2025, with the ETIAS implemented in late 2026. The ETIAS can't be implemented before the EES system is running smoothly.

The EES (Entry/Exit System) is an automated system that will replace passport stamping for non-EU travelers, electronically recording your entry and exit to help streamline border crossings. Meanwhile, the ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is a new travel authorization—similar to the U.S. ESTA—that will be required for visa-exempt travelers visiting the Schengen Area. It’s a quick online application that will be valid for multiple trips over three years.

The rules for visa-free travel to Europe will change for travellers coming from 59 countries and territories. Find out below what the first year of ETIAS will look like in practice.
