Just returned from another fantastic family getaway to the Dominican Republic. More on that at a later time. For now, let's chat about why the summer☀️is a great time to travel to this beautiful destination.
Although considered the "hurricane season", due to its mountainous landscape, the Dominican Republic is usually well protected, and at most you will get rain 🌧️ on some days, which can be quite refreshing.
The sea 🌊 calms down during the summer and makes for a great way to see some hidden beaches.
Summer is also a great time to visit the Jarabacoa region which is the DR's "local alps", 🏔️ and perfect for white water rafting and canyoning, as well as hikes in beautiful greenery.

Hey!! 👋 I know....it’s been awhile. I've not posted much over the summer months. Took a bit of a break to focus on family with the kids being out of school. So today, we need to catch up! Let’s talk about St. John, USVI. 🇺🇸 I had the opportunity to escape for a few days back in June, and it was 🤩!! Before I left, one of my colleagues told me that Trunk Bay is one of her favorite beaches 🏝 in the world, and I can now understand why she made that statement! St. John has now become one of my favorite destinations in the Caribbean. Small, easy to get around, some of the most gorgeous beaches I've ever seen (and I've seen many), great food, hiking, easy options for island hopping, and exceptional 🐠 snorkeling + diving. In fact, my goal was to see a sea turtle. Last time I had that experience was in Hawaii almost 20 years ago. Well, it happened! On our first full day we were snorkeling 🤿 on Francis Bay Beach, and out of nowhere came this massive 🐢 sea turtle. It was amazing, and the highlight of my trip!
