While traveling this summer remember the TSA’s 3-1-1 liquids rule.

In short, the 3-1-1 rule is: Each liquid you bring through the TSA checkpoint must be in a 3.4-ounce or smaller container (“3”), all containers must be placed inside one clear quart-size plastic bag (“1”) and each passenger is only allowed one plastic bag (“1”).

The TSA has kept in place a temporary pandemic exception to the rule, allowing up to 12 ounces of liquid hand sanitizer in carry-on baggage.

Part of this exception: The hand sanitizer will have to be screened separately since it’s technically over the limit. You’ll need to remove it from your bag before it goes through the scanner.

Be safe out there!
Thank you

The Netherlands has reversed a quarantine requirement for vaccinated travelers, saying that effective Sept. 22, vaccinated travelers from the U.S. and other "very high-risk areas" for Covid-19 no longer have to quarantine.

The rule change will particularly benefit river cruise operators, who had been altering schedules to avoid the quarantine requirement for cruisers who were embarking ships in Amsterdam, a popular departure point. Most river lines require passengers and crew to be vaccinated.

A statement from the Netherlands government said that as of Sept. 25, it would relax its five-foot distancing rule, which means that bars and restaurants can open to maximum capacity and events will again be allowed.
But simultaneously it will require patrons ages 13 and over to show proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative Covid test result taken less than 24 hours before entry, using the CoronaCheck Netherlands app to generate a health pass. Patrons ages 14 and over will have to show an ID along with their health pass. The government still urges people to practice social distancing. Face masks are still mandatory in airports and on planes, buses, trains, trams, metros, taxis and other commercial transportation.

With vaccinations continuing to roll out across Australia, we are getting ready to reunite our customers with their family, friends, colleagues and favourite destinations around the globe.

Based on the current vaccination projection rates and the Australian Government's plan for reopening borders, we are preparing for Qantas and Jetstar international flights to resume as follows:
From mid-December 2021, between Australia and Fiji, Singapore, the United States, Japan, United Kingdom and Canada.*
From mid-December 2021, between Australia and New Zealand in line with the anticipated restart of the trans-Tasman travel bubble.*
From mid-February 2022 between Australia and Hong Kong.*
From April 2022 onwards flights between Australia and cities including Bali, Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City and Johannesburg.*
This remains dependent on Government decisions in coming months, so we'll keep you updated if the plans change.

We would like to thank you as a valued Red Email subscriber for your ongoing support during our recovery and we look forward to welcoming you on board soon.

American Airlines Is Running Five Employee Boeing 737 MAX Flights To Nowhere
by Gary Leff on November 29, 2020

The Boeing 737 MAX is officially allowed to fly again in commercial service. A lot of things need to take place before that happens, but while Southwest Airlines plans to take 4-5 months to get the plane back in the air, American Airlines is far more aggressive – planning to fly it again on December 29th.

Employees of American Airlines and its wholly-owned regional carriers (Envoy, Piedmont, and PSA) and of the American Airlines Credit Union are being invited to take one of five ‘flights to nowhere’ on the Boeing 737 MAX before it re-enters commercial service at the end of December.

Emirates Encouraging Longer Layovers With Free Overnight Stays in Dubai

Emirates' Dubai Connect package is back and better than ever.
BY STACEY LEASCA
NOVEMBER 25, 2020

Emirates wants you to disembark for a little bit longer in Dubai. So, it’s helping you do just that by re-launching its Dubai Connect offer, which gives guests a complimentary hotel stay so they can experience the city for a few extra hours. Those transiting through its hub in Dubai can take advantage of the free hotel stay when their connection time exceeds 10 hours.

“With Dubai Connect, Emirates passengers will receive a complimentary night’s stay in a four or five-star hotel, ground transfers to and from the airport, meals at the hotel as well as UAE visa on arrival where required,” the airline explained in its announcement. “The service aims to provide customers whose best connection time is between 10 and 24 hours, a more convenient travel journey.”

As the airline also noted, Dubai is indeed still open to visitors, including its beaches, heritage sites, shopping, dining, and more. This means guests utilizing the longer layover can not only have a place to sleep during the stay but can also leave the hotel to explore more of what Dubai has to offer. (Just don’t forget a mask — no matter where you are in the world.)

Two weeks ago, United Airlines became
the first airline to offer pre-flight testing to help travelers to bypass Hawaii’s mandatory quarantine. Since then, several other major airlines have rushed to follow suit – indicating that preflight rapid testing could be the future of travel.

Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines also began offering testing on routes to Hawaii.
American Airlines’ ambitious testing program now includes Jamaica (from Miami), Costa Rica, and the Bahamas with plans to expand across the entire Caribbean.
JetBlue teamed up with Vault Health to offer passengers discounted at home COVID-19 tests prior to traveling.
Abroad, German airline Lufthansa also has plans to introduce preflight tests on US routes.

Airports are quickly getting in on the action too. In addition to San Francisco, Tampa, JFK, and Newark have introduced rapid-testing facilities with cities like Dallas, LA, Miami, and Chicago said to be in the works.

With long waits for test results and constantly changing entry restrictions, rapid testing could be the key to jumpstarting the international travel industry.
Thank you for the updates!

Thanksgiving a bust? Airlines slash November schedules as demand sputters. According to ;

New numbers from travel data firm OAG paint a harsh picture of the upcoming holiday. Bookings for November at American and United are at roughly a quarter of where they were at this time last year. And reservations at Delta Air Lines are at only 12% of 2019 levels.

The news of weak holiday bookings comes as airlines are now free to cut service at will. Minimum air-service rules attached to federal coronavirus aid package, or CARES Act, funds expired on Sept. 30, freeing airlines to drop destinations. American has already said it will suspend flights to 11 small communities while Delta and JetBlue Airways have indefinitely suspended flights to places like Worcester, Massachusetts (ORH). Executives at Southwest Airlines and United have said their own cuts could come if travel does not continue to rebound.

Looking for something to do on Saturday, October 24, 2020?

Check out Jon B at The Canyon Santa Clarita 😍🤩🤗💃🏽🕺🏾

We love Jon B.‘s super-smooth singing and romantic melodies on ’90s faves like “They Don’t Know” and “Someone to Love” — and we’re not alone. Tupac Shakur was such a fan of Jon B.’s first album, Bonafide, that they ended up teaming up on a song for his follow-up (the tune, “Are U Still Down,” includes the final rap verse that Tupac ever recorded).
