Man I wish I had some canvasbacks cleaned and ready to grill. There is no better bird to eat in my opinion. The key is to pluck them and leave that layer of fat on them. They taste just like steak. I prefer them over sand hill cranes as well. Sand hills are great don't get me wrong but there is nothing like eating adult cans!! ゚viralシ

I love duck feathers. So many of them are unique and beautiful. Starting a new project today hopefully it comes out well. Someone wants me to do a cross for them. I will post pics when I am finished.

Just finished this yesterday. The wood that the feathers and clam shells are on is petrified mesquite. When duck season ends I get depressed and don't want to stop thinking about everything that has to do with duck hunting. If you have a bird in the freezer and you want to do something with it let me know. I am not a taxidermist but I love art. Especially art that has to do with birds that we have harvested. Taxidermy bill gets high really fast so I have all ways wanted to come up with a way to preserve my memories. I think I have found it.

Just finished my green wing teal craft. Of course you know I had to add a few pins off of pintails from this season. Lol The green on an adult green wing teal had mesmerized me since I was a kid. The first duck I ever shot was a green wing teal. The shell is a clam shell from some of the biggest clams I have ever seen in fresh water.

Next season can't get here fast enough!! After I was done cleaning birds one night I was thinking I hate throwing all these beautiful birds in the trash and not making a memory. I love this picture.

While working in Illinois my brother and I caught some amazing musky and saw a bunch of beautiful places. It is so nice to truly have a fall season like they still have up north. We are currently heading back to Texas and we have some other places we are going to stop and look at for upcoming trips. It was a great experience and we will be doing it again soon. All my clients that have duck hunts booked get ready we will be making some memories soon.
