BYC’s Salty 100 is back! Join us on July 12-13 for this great 100-mile race down to Block Island, around Devil’s Bridge thru Quicks Hole and home again…OR, just like the Tower Race, you can sail the course in the reverse order.

The course offers you a chance to stretch your boat’s legs a bit on the greatest racetrack in the world. Mid-season water temperature and breezes on Buzzards Bay, Rhode Island Sound and Vineyard Sound. Use it as a warm-up or crew prep for the 2025 Marion Bermuda Race. Life is short and the summer is shorter. With apologies to Isak Dinesen, “The cure of anything is the Salty 100!”

What makes a boat successful on the race course? Here’s some insight from BYC’s Brian Keane, who with his crew aboard Savasana, topped this year's J/70 Winter Circuit and more recently placed first in the J/70 class at Charleston Race Week. Congratulations, Savasana - good luck at your upcoming events!

Team Savasana's success on the J/70 circuit had as much to do with their speed as it did with a different motivational factor for skipper Brian Keane.

Congratulations, Raptor!

Hats off to Ed Dailey’s J/109 Raptor for winning EDGARTOWN RACE WEEKEND's prestigious Venona Trophy (best corrected time overall among all 'Round-the-Island race spinnaker classes) after winning his PHRF Spinnaker C class (with Wyley Wakeman helming).

Other class winners in ’RTI were Donald Tofias' W Class 76 Wild Horses (PHRF Spinnaker A), Scott Bearse's First 447 Slide Rule (PHRF Spinnaker B), Ted Herlihy's J/109 Gut Feeling (PHRF Doublehanded Spinnaker), Ross McCaig's J/30 Off Piste (PHRF Spinnaker D), Peter Soule's Beneteau 311 Saylavee (PHRF Non-Spinnaker), and Larry Phillips’ Midtown Racing (Multihull).
