Guatemala Recap Day 4 (Dedication Day):

This was our final day of building. We were patting ourselves on the back because at this point, we were set to finish construction a WHOLE DAY EARLY! Interior walls went up, electrical wires were ran, and we added the finishing touches from there. By this day, more and more local children had shown up on site. Whether it was to lend a hand, to play with the guys, or to simply just watch, their presence on site was a joy. ❤️ Emotions were flowing during the dedication ceremony, and the feeling of gratitude radiating from the sponsored family was immeasurable. With the donations from our fundraiser, we were also able to gift them a bed and an EcoFilter for clean drinking water. We were also able to bless the local staff and missionary who cared for us during our time there. We ended the day feeling accomplished, grateful, and blessed to have been the hands and feet of the Lord. 🙏🏽✝️

Guatemala Recap Day 3:

Day 3 started bright and early with getting the walls and rafters put up. After lunch we started on the siding… it was A LOT of nails!! It finally started looking like a house this day, so we ended it feeling very accomplished. ❤️🙏🏽

Guatemala recap days 1 &2:

Day 1 was spent flying to Guatemala City and then driving to San Raymundo, a small town about 2 hours outside of Guatemala City. We were all at the airport by 3:30am! After some sight seeing, dinner was tacos with churros for dessert, yummy! 😋

Day 2 was the first official work day. Forms were set for the slab, and the girls worked on cutting the lumber for the walls to the right lengths while the guys mixed concrete. Once that was done we were able to pour the slab! Since it was still early, we got to working on building the walls to prep for day 3!

Footprint Homes is partnering with Casas Por Cristo to build a family a BRAND NEW HOME! 🏠 Our team will be heading to San Raymundo, Guatemala in late July. 🇬🇹

Want to get involved? Here are 2 ways:

1) Pick a number and donate that amount. Monetary donations will help provide the family with household goods (i.e. beds, table, water filters, cooktop, etc.) Simple items that we take for granted! These items will help the sponsored family begin making their new house a home. ❤️
