Today I was both honored and humbled to have been asked to inflate one of Joan Nickol's balloons at her interment in Dyersville. She was a long time pilot that flew in the Cedar Rapids area as well as in her home.town of Monticello. We met many of her family and crew today and I'm beyond thankful that Mother Nature smiled on us so we could inflate the balloon for her. Thanks to my crew for the help and may God join Joan in her laughter as he sets her body gently down again into the loving arms of mother earth.
