Many have asked me about the excursions on a River Cruise. Everyday we were offered tours that were included in the price - leisure tours such as city tours, food tours, castle tours & more and there was always an active tour offered such as hiking to a castle , 20 Mile bike ride, bike city tours etc. Always something to do for everyone!
Day 13- London, England
Our very last day was quite special. We toured the inside of Buckingham Palace. While we weren’t able to take pictures, this castle tour was my favorite because Of my fascination with the royal family. We then walked around the Soho district and Chinatown. Had another great dinner at another gluten free restaurant . And ended our night seeing a Broadway show- The Book of Mormon.
And that is the end of my European adventure until next time!

Day 12- London, England
Our day started early with a Tower of London tour. The guards at the tower are called Beef Eaters. I wondered what a Beef Eater looked like- maybe burly man? Just a regular soldier with an interesting title. We toured the Crown Jewels where each crown was more stunning than the next . We then heard stories of executions that took place within the Tower of London . Especially King Henry the 8th who beheaded 2 of his wives. We saw the torture chambers, went in the Tower of a London and learned about the pampered Ravens who live on the grounds.
We then walked over the London Bridge and took a long walk to Borough Market. There was a ton of food options and we ate our hearts out.
We enjoyed dinner at an Italian restaurant that caters to gluten free and then went to Harrods to walk around.
Tomorrow we get an inside tour of Buckingham Palace.

Day 11- London, England
Today we did an extensive London city tour. We took a walk through a park and saw Spencer House and other residences that royal family has lived in. We learned alot of stories about the royal family . Seems that the name “Charles” has naughty ways and history is repeating itself. We walked to Buckingham Palace to watch the Changing of the Guards. Experiencing this was so surreal. We walked through St James Park. Walked past the Parliament, Horse Guards where we got to take pictures, saw the Prime Minister’s residence with a moving truck moving him in. Apparently there’s always moving trucks there more often as they have been through 6 of them in the last couple of years. We saw Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.
After our long tour, we took a ride to Notting Hill where there’s a popular gluten free bakery. Bonus this quaint, upscale neighborhood had great shopping and lots of bakeries.
Ended our evening in Southwark, a hip place to dine and drink.

Day 10- London, England
We sadly departed our river cruise today and hopped on a plane to London. Once you are in Europe it’s very easy to get on a plane and be in another country in 2 hrs. After checking into our hotel, we headed to do some shopping and dinner in Covent Garden.
Tomorrow is our London city tour and dinner in England’s oldest pubs.
