When I envisioned capturing the Northern Lights in the cove at Blackrocks in Marquette, this is what I had in mind! Last night was probably the best night I've had chasing the lights!! It came in two waves over the course of four hours; I'm glad I stayed for the second wave. I took this photo around 1:15 a.m. 🌠🌠

Last class of the season!

A test out/fast track ASA 101/103/104 (thru bareboat) for some local accomplished sailors. What a privilege to spend a couple days collaborating with these fine gents who we also call friends. ⛵️🩵

Split View of the little island at Little Presque Park in Marquette Michigan.

Inspired by Clark Little and Christian Dalbec, I bought an underwater housing for my camera. That was almost 3 years ago now. Consumed with elder care issues for family members, the housing sat on a shelf until last June when I got a chance to try it out at Point Betsie and a friends place at Lime Lake near Glen Arbor. It required a bigger learning curve than I had imagined but I finally got a chance to visit some Lake Superior locations a couple weeks ago. I hit five locations that I thought would be promising and they didn't disappoint. I have a lot more locations in mind but those five were great areas to work on my skills. Still a lot to learn but will hopefully get there in time. I'll be posting some of my favorites over the next couple weeks and will sadly leave a few favorites on the digital cutting room floor due to user error. I hope you enjoy the ones that worked out. :)
