Look who the rain brought in! Winter aconite (Eranthis hyemalis) is one of our favorite spring ephemerals, with dainty yellow blooms that appear around the same time as the snowdrops (Galanthus sp.).
The sunny hue of their petals reminds us that the raindrops that rest upon them are only a temporary decoration. 🌼

It rarely snows here in western NC, especially on Christmas day. After the storm I got the drone out to follow us on a walk around the neighborhood.
