Honestly, I've not had much of a holiday spirit this year. We lost most of our decorations and ornaments in the flood and we are staying in a small cottage for the next several months. I did find a skinny tree, though; the last one they had. Imagine my surprise when some of our past tour participants arranged to send new holiday ornaments, several are handmade, shipped to Haley to give them all to me at once. I may have cried a bit. If you sent an ornament or other decor, thank you 🙏. There was even an angel from Rosslyn Chapel for the top. And two quilts also came, sure to keep us warm through these chilly mountain nights! Special hugs to Glenda Blaisdell-Buck for such a purrfect labor of love and coordinating the shipments to Haley. I'm so fortunate to know every single one of you. Happy Holidays and thanks again for one of the best gifts we've ever gotten ❤️🎄🥰

When someone asks my favorite location in Scotland, it's a tough answer. I love it all, but there are locations that especially resonate; "Soul places" where I feel most alive or most connected or at peace. Rosslyn Chapel is one of those, as is Dunkeld and Birnam, as well as the Isle of Arran. I used to dream of Rosslyn Chapel long before DaVinci code brought it into the limelight, long before I knew anything about it. I would dream of flying through the air and going into this strange, ornate chapel where I would float up to the ceiling and run my hand over the carvings. Perthshire is much like western NC and, also, I have ancestral connections in Dunkeld so it has always given me a warm and cozy feeling. In the Isle of Arran, it seems that chance encounters and magical experiences welcome us. I'd love to know your Soul Places!

Now there is ONE double room left, only one in this intimate group tour for women. This tour is all the things I always wish I could share with girlfriends. It will be my dream tour and, I hope, yours too.

In the midst of everything going on here at home in North Carolina, I'm still excited about the upcoming tours. Armadale Castle on the Isle of Skye is a place some of my travelers get to visit, but they also have lovely guest accommodations right there on the grounds. Most of my groups are too large to stay there but my Women's Tour next year is not. Intentionally small, this is an intimate trip with friends. I can't wait!
