It's Momentum Monday! Today, we're reflecting on our recent trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where we explored Peggy's Cove Lighthouse Route & Seaside Villages.
A week ago, my husband and I embarked on a delightful journey, starting with drive-by views of Halifax and stunning ocean vistas. Our leisurely coach-based tour took us through the modern city of Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, and along the picturesque coastal Lighthouse Route to reach the charming fishing village of Peggy's Cove.
With our kilted on-board guide sharing fascinating stories about the Cove's name, its iconic lighthouse, and the local lobster trapping industry, we soaked up every moment. We wandered through shops and galleries, marveled at the coastal landscape, and even had the chance to watch a demonstration on how lobsters are trapped.
One highlight of our trip was visiting the DeGarthe monument, a breathtaking sculpture carved out of solid granite that honors the fishing community of Peggy's Cove. Depicting 32 fishing folk embraced by the wings of St. Elmo, the patron saint of sailors, this masterpiece took over 10 years to complete.
Our return journey took us through scenic coastal villages along St. Margaret's Bay, providing more splendid ocean views. This trip was a beautiful reminder of the simple joys of exploring new places with the one you love.
Please note: If you ever find yourself exploring the granite shores of Peggy's Cove, avoid the Black Rocks due to rogue wave danger.
Unwind and relax with those who matter most. This Sunday Serenity, I’m reminded of the simple joys of spending quality time with my husband in a whirlpool bath during our cruise. The warmth of the water and the comfort of his presence made it a moment to treasure.
If given the chance, I would spend all day long doing this, as time and loved ones are two things I cherish the most. May your Sunday be filled with peace and the company of those you hold dear.
