Checking out a new Mattapoisett Land Trust trail off rt6 across from the diner. A short trail that offers several river access ways and an open meadow. Pretty day for viewing it today .. foliage was popping. Grayson was very curious and wanted to head down those steps into the river!! 😃

Mark your calendars: Salty's Soiree is on Saturday October 28th from 5:30-7:30pm at Dunseith Gardens! The annual fall event you know and love.

This year, we will have our bonfire, s'mores making, music, and storytelling by Diane Edgecomb. This family-friendly event is free, brought to you by MLT volunteers, ORRHS student volunteers, and many other helping hands.

51st Annual Mattapoisett Road Race today starts at 9 am - starts and finished at Shioyard Park - plan accordingly to f you need to get to the wharf or beach as roads will be blocked during race. Have a wonderful 4th of July!!

Get outdoors.. with COA and Mattapoisett Land Trust

Our hike with the Mattapoisett Council on Aging was such a hit last year, we're bringing it back again! Come out and join MLT and the COA for an accessible hiking experience at the Munn Preserve. Open to our seniors and their friends and family members of all abilities.

Meet at the Munn Preserve, at the end of Mattapoisett Neck Rd. just where Antassawomack Rd. begins, at 10:30am on Thursday June 22nd. The walk down the path to the beach and back is just under 1 mile total. The COA van will also be available to drive those uncormfortable with the distance down to the beach and back.

The long awaited bike path connecting Goodspeed island to Reservation and Mattapoisett Nk road completed just over a month ago has allowed so many people outside to explore the beautiful place a lot of us call home. The trail makes it safe and fun to get from Fairhaven center to Mattapoisett center.

Yesterday as I was walking along the trail to the ribbon cutting a little girl and her mom were riding their bikes. I heard the girl say “Mom it’s so pretty .. I want to live here”. It made me smile and remind me how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place and now to have this trail for all to enjoy for years to come!

I thank all those who have worked diligently to make this happen - I heard at the ribbon cutting from Steve Kelleher this has been a making for 27 years!!!

Now let’s get out and enjoy it!!
