Spectrum Photo specializes in Sailing, Aviation, Travel and Landscape photography

Fran has been a professional photographer for over thirty years with the last twenty years spent specializing in weddings, portraits and events. Now, Fran has ventured out into the yacht racing and sports photography field, and is widely recognized for his creative work. Accomplishments include the title of official photographer for the Buzzards Bay Regatta since 2001. Marion to Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race since 2003, and the 2006, 2010 and 2012 Shields National Championships.

Today was the start of the 2024 Internation Laser Class Association (ILCA) North American Championships at the New Bedford Yacht Club. The weather was not the best and after a long postponement one race was abandoned when the fog rolled in. Hopefully we'll get better weather the rest of the week. Here are some photos from today.

Today was the last day of the NBYC Annual Regatta. Featured was the "FIASCO" race where boats could start in any direction and round marks in any order (yes...FIASCO!!). Boats and people were decorated for the occasion.

Well that's a wrap for the 2023 Marion Bermuda Race! Last night was the awards ceremony and gala. All photos of the remaining arrivals,awards and gala will be posted on the site when I get back north on Wednesday. MONDAY UPDATE. The first boat Boudicca has arrived. They were welcomed by friends, family and a champagne toast ! As of 1030am,the next boat Lyric was 200km out.

Happy Monday! I'm here in Bermuda at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club waiting for the first boat that finished the Marion to Bermuda Race to arrive. It finished about 6:15am but takes a couple of hours to get to the club from the finish line. The rest of the fleet is about 24 hours behind!. But you can't have a better place to hang out and wait!

It was a 'heavy weather' day for the DragonFlite 95 sailors in Carver MA today. It was interesting watching the 'little' boats handling 'big' boat weather. Winds were 15-20kt, gusting well over 20.
