Vinton County Convention and Visitors Bureau Part of Ohio's Hocking Hills Region, Vinton County is known for its quiet trails, lakes, and forests.

Vinton County is "Ohio’s last frontier" of Appalachian wilderness. Our scenic beauty, rural location, and plentiful hunting opportunities attract attention from visitors across the state and the country every year. The Vinton County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau (VCCVB) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization that promotes tourism in the county through regional and statewide marketing efforts. The

VCCVB produces a premium-quality biannual visitors guide that is distributed throughout Ohio and neighboring states. The work of the VCCVB is made possible with the support of its tourism partners and by a portion of the lodging tax charged to visitors who stay in local lodging facilities. Any individual, business, or nonprofit organization involved in travel and tourism is invited to approach the VCCVB about volunteer and marketing opportunities.

The Vinton County Park District will celebrate Earth Day 2025 by hosting a volunteer workday at Shea-Williams Nature Preserve on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Volunteer to help clean up Shea-Williams Nature Preserve and get it ready for this year’s visitors. Located east of Lake Hope State Park on Shea Road, the scenic 71-acre preserve features a protected wetland area, rock outcroppings, and mature hardwood forest. Join park district staff as a volunteer to collect trash and establish a new hiking trailhead.

Meet at Shea-Williams Nature Preserve, 71815 Shea Road, McArthur, OH 45651. No registration necessary. Wear boots, jeans, and gloves. Tools and supplies will be provided, but bring your own if you have any. All volunteers will need to sign a waiver of liability.

Since 2004, the CVB has partnered with the Vinton County Commissioners’ Development Department and the Vinton County Chamber of Commerce to market the county through one joint office in McArthur.
