❤️ Valentine's Day Backdoor Heart Decoration ❤️

Two wall lamps I purchased at a resale shop for $26 each, hanging them in the kitchen. One hangs by the stove and copper pots casting light on the contents of the glass front cabinet. The second lamp hung on the other side of the kitchen again casting light on that cabinet. The light in the room is so romantic at night and provides path light moving from one room to the next.

Woke up yesterday to about 3-4 inches of fluffy snow--so unusual for this area of North Texas, but it looks so bright outside!⛄️ Hopefully, this wonderland will take care of some pesky spring bugs and weeds!

Neighbors are staying in and schools are closed for the week. ❄️⛄️ Time to enjoy the snow while it lasts! Stay warm, everyone!

Christmas decorations are down and ready to be sorted and labeled in the garage! The redsign of the mantel area and drawing room, Sharon and I started a month ago, is now complete!

The two mantel mirrors are from the Aiden Gray collection, designed in Dallas, and most of the candlestick collection on the hearth comes from the same collection.

The lamps are called mantel lamps for the rectangular shade, which fits perfectly on the narrow mantel. The fireplace surround is covering textured shells, adding a bit of interest to the design.

A recent steal at a neighborhood estate sale, these vintage andirons were just $75 -- I couldn't resist! The back wall of the fireplace is now paneled with faux shiplap, framed with vintage plinths for a bit of extra flair.

Also, that ram? It's from the Park Hill collection, one of the pieces I sold at my Lady Butterbug Shoppe before it closed.

I am so blessed to host wonderful guests at Lady Butterbug Cottage, my short term rental on Airbnb in Historic McKinney, Texas. The cottage is within walking distance to historic downtown where fun, frolicking, great dining, festive events are happening all the time. 💥

The juxtaposition of sheep and red birds hanging out in this vintage birdcage puts a smile on my face.

The grass is made of various colors of pink and red Christmas ornaments.

🌲 A corner in the TV room. The wall is bluer than it looks....Palladian Blue by Sherwin Williams.
🏡 I am obsessed with English decorating and I love the country English feel of this little corner of the room.
I had some Christmas decorations in this room before I got the itch to redesign the room...so the Christmas decorations came down and sitting in a pile under the Christmas tree🤪⛄️🌲

Good morning...it's raining here in North Texas...so needed. A soft gentle rain that my plants are loving and the squirrels are literally jumping from tree to tree with excitement.

This is a school house cabinet (I found on the curb for $50) that I've had for years. There are student's names scribbled on the inside walls.

I took off the doors so I could display the quilts I sewed several years ago during my quilting stage.

Displaying a few other items and adding a lamp for needed light highlighted the dark inside of the cabinet. Now I have a cozy moment going on beside my TV chair.

I have two tables in my breakfast room, one by the banquet and one by the large window...two tables leave the center of the room open for traffic flow from the living room to the kitchen.
As I'm redecorating the breakfast room and kitchen this swan, adorned with bunches of tallowberries, will be a center piece on one of the tables.
She is magnificent in my eyes and rests on a marble lazy Susan.

I'm restyling the TV room using blues, greens, pinks and a little red. This vintage green cabinet that was in the greenhouse fits perfectly in the corner of the room. The rest of the room still needs a a little tweaking.

🌲⛄️ Holiday magic is in the air at my house in Historic McKinney, Texas where everything is big and bright in Texas fashion. 🎅🏡

The rustic charm of this fireplace mantle, complete with a whimsical woody sled, Texas tall reindeer adorned with bells, and a vintage rolltop desk inner remains, is filling me with so much joy!💥

Loving the cozy, English inspired vibes of these Christmas decorations. Can't wait to share more pics of my two short term rentals on Airbnb called Lady Butterbug Guesthouse and Lady Butterbug Cottage.

Next week, I'll be decking the halls (and exteriors!) of all three of my historic properties in McKinney.

It was so nice running into a neighbor today who mentioned she missed my posts! Life has been a whirlwind with the holiday season and redecorating nearly every room in my house. Here's a sneak peek of the redesign in my breakfast room and kitchen areas! I'm a huge collector of vintage dishes, from blue and white transferware to brown transferware, white earthenware, and old English advertising pots. My amazing friend Sharon has helped me transform my collections into beautiful displays. We grouped like with like, making each piece shine! In one of my favorite English cabinets, we displayed the brown transferware china and vintage English advertising pots. In the two shelving units, my blue and white transferware collections (including some stunning Flow Blue pieces) takes center stage. One special piece was a gift from my sister!✨️ In the kitchen, I've curated a collection of vintage kitchenware--mixing bowls, measuring cups, copper molds that perfectly match my copper countertops, and even vintage cookbooks. My 1920 Wedgewood gas stove is adorned with crocks of wooden spoons and spatulas--such a cozy touch. The new overhead lighting is waiting to be installed, and once my copper hanging rack arrives, I can't wait to hang the copper pots above the stove. There is some craziness going on in my house right now at Christmas time.🌲 My friend Sharon (designer extrodenaire) and I have been rearranging, redesigning, organizing, grouping like items in almost every room of my house. The Limelight hydrangea standard trees, planted in huge pots, are blooming great this year receiving more sun. Last year they sat near the greenhouse but didn't receive enough sun so I moved them. Thank goodness I have a tree dolly and moved them myself.
