🌲⛄️ Holiday magic is in the air at my house in Historic McKinney, Texas where everything is big and bright in Texas fashion. 🎅🏡

The rustic charm of this fireplace mantle, complete with a whimsical woody sled, Texas tall reindeer adorned with bells, and a vintage rolltop desk inner remains, is filling me with so much joy!💥

Loving the cozy, English inspired vibes of these Christmas decorations. Can't wait to share more pics of my two short term rentals on Airbnb called Lady Butterbug Guesthouse and Lady Butterbug Cottage.

Next week, I'll be decking the halls (and exteriors!) of all three of my historic properties in McKinney.

There's something extra special about driving through the historic district at night, peeking into the windows to see the twinkling trees and festive cheer. 💥

🎃🍁 Just finishes taking down all the fall and Halloween decorations at home and the two Airbnbs! Now the fun part begins: creating new Christmas decor for all three locations! 🌲⛄️

I love mixing things up each year with what I already have, but I couldn't resist picking up some new garland and faux little trees this time. ❄️ I'm also planning to purge some old decorations from the my hoard and donate them to local recycle shops--time to spread the holiday cheer!🎅

Getting organized in the garage is on my to-do list, and I can't wait to share my creative with all of you. Here are some throwback pics of last year's living room decor! 🏡❤️

🍁🎃👻 Throwback to 20 years ago when I crafted these large wooden witches using Martha Stewart's patterns! Each witch is adorned with fall banners as skirts, buffalo check bows, and riding broomstick, complete with lit hats, crawling spiders and candlelit lanterns.

They're surrounded by vibrant pumpkins and nestled in lush greenery under our majestic Texas Oak tree and boxwood arch. I bring them out every year along with other Halloween decorations--stay tuned for those in my next post! 🎃

It's a joy to see so many people admire them and to welcome all the trick or treaters on Halloween night!👻

🍁🍂 Our hallway just got cozier! I'm loving the shiplap white walls that beautifully showcase my collection of vintage cuckoo clocks, all painted white for a cohesive look. The floral china containers add such a charming touch! 🌿 I've also set up a lovely lamp on a timer for that perfect ambience. Plus, I can't help but smile at the kid's memorabilia--the tiny shoe and the china cup made by a friend are such sweet reminders 🍼🍭 And how about that Eastlake dresser, painted in Annie Sloan? It all feels a warm embrace!

🎃🍁🌿 What a delightful day with two friends spent touring the stunning fall displays at the Dallas Arboretum!The pumpkin houses never cease to amaze me, and the vibrant blooms remind me why fall in Dallas is so special.

We spotted some gorgeous plants that thrive this season: periwinkle,alyssum, potato vine, salvias, pentas, caladiums, elephant ears, angelonia, cannas, perennial hibiscus, sage, and so many more!

After soaking in all that beauty, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at El Fenix, an old neighborhood favorite. Laughter filled the air as we shared stories--and yes, maybe a little husband talk too!😁

Here's to more beautiful days like this!

🍁Transforming my back porch into a cozy TV room filled with vintage charm!🏡

This space is a labor of love, showcasing family heirlooms and unique finds that tell a story.
The old store tin ceiling tiles add character, while the shelled mirrors and silver tray brings a touch of elegance. I've even repurposed vintage 1950s cigarette trays displayed in a chippy chalk-painted frame!

And how about those bathroom heater bricks? They look stunning in a silver serving holder. The stained dresser, soon to be painted, with oversized k***s ties it all together.

Home is where the heart is, and I'm loving every moment in this special nook!❤️

🍁🌿🍁 Loving the cozy atmosphere in our living room, featuring beautiful velvet pumpkins and wheat painted walls! We've blended vintage decor with some new lamps and upholstery pieces for a fresh yet timeless look.

Check out our shell - lined fireplace hearth and the stunning Bessarabian kilim reversible rug that adds the perfect touch. I even used linen and crocheted tablecloths as draperies for that unique flair!

I did a little fall decorating last week using Plush Pumpkins from my collection. The velvet pumpkins are scattered throughout the dining room and living room. I love the look and feel of the soft velvet and scrumptious colors of the pumpkins mixed with the blue and white transferware china.

I store the pumpkins in a dresser drawer to shelter them from light and insects eating the rice inside them.

I was out shopping and came across this old blue chippy beadboard. Knowing it would look great in the entryway I bought it immediately.

I installed it myself using a chop saw and neumatic staple gun. Very easy installation. I capped it with molding which I painted white.

Next I added shiplap right over the sheetrock.

The floor is painted with black and white paint and sanded back to mimic a wore floor.

Decorating the walls is really the fun part for me. I love to decorate 🤣

Meet Stonecrop a succulent in the sedum family.
One can easily propagate sedums by taking a cutting and sticking it in the ground or pot.
This little baby has looked like this all season long, even 100 degree north Texas heat and humidity.
I bought a 4" pot and divided it to fill each opening in this pot and it spread quickly.
Pick up a sedum next spring!!!🌿

Guess who I found strolling through my garden yesterday?🌿 My guests at Lady Butterbug Cottage, a short term rental on Airbnb, were enjoying their visit in my garden and I went outside to meet them. Karen is from Virginia and Jennifer is from Alabama.

Next thing I knew I invited them inside to see my newly decorated bedroom and porch. Karen taught me how to use some settings on my phone!!! Hey I need all the help I can get with technology.

The Limelight hydrangea standard trees, planted in huge pots, are blooming great this year receiving more sun. Last year they sat near the greenhouse but didn't receive enough sun so I moved them. Thank goodness I have a tree dolly and moved them myself.
