Rebecca Penno has been designing homes in the Washinton DC metro area since 2006. Born and raised in Virginia, she attributes the state’s beauty and southern tradition as inspiration in her design. She founded Penno Interiors after being mentored by award winning architecture and interior design firms in the Washington, D.C. Through her exposure to high-end interior design, Rebecca has the ability
to walk a client through the entire construction process from ground up. Rebecca’s experience includes collaborating with custom home builders and architects to bring a client’s dream home to fruition. It is through her meticulous eye she is able to offer her talents in interior architecture, finish selections and furnishings. Penno Interiors also caters to clients who have the flexibility of working room-by-room in their existing home. These clients may need a paint consultation or assistance in renovating their kitchen. Penno Interiors offers design services which are flexible to meet each client’s needs.

What a beautiful install we had this morning! We had the pleasure of working with this McLean homeowner to furnish her young family’s Family Room. Each upholstery surface is a Crypton fabric so that there isn’t a surface her girls can’t live on. Designing for families is such a joy as a mother of young kiddos myself, I know. I get it! You can have little ones (or teenage ones) and still introduce beautiful furnishings in your home. I’m so glad this client has a room that she loves!
Penno Interiors turns T E N today! What a joy it has been to lead this career journey of my own and have the ability to bring others along side of me! I am so grateful for every client who has trusted me to bring a creative vision to their home. I am thankful for the wonderful vendors who are an essential part of our team. I give thanks to the in-office team members I have had over the years and especially Anh and Fran who are with me today. Most of all I want to say thank you to Leland for encouraging me to take the leap of faith and begin my role as a business owner and to God because great is thy faithfulness for always providing for this business and the reason why we can celebrate ten years today.

Window treatments are one of my favorite elements to detail as it often requires problem solving with great design. 📐🪟Collaborating with workrooms who field template for custom curved hardware and just think about the math on each pleat being slightly higher than the next. 🫣Also note there are three layers here: motorized shade in the back, stationary roman in the middle and stationary panels in the front. 👌🏻 A successful combination of function and beautiful!

Highpoint Furniture Market is around the corner! Anh and I will spend 2.5 days discovering new product and sit in a lot of upholstery pieces. Why? So you don’t have to! When we recommend a particular cushion type it’s because we know how it will feel or look. This is our chance to say “we sat in that sofa at market. The depth is perfect for curling up and watching a movie.”Let us do the work for you!

We were honored to create this holiday tablescape in the @hollyhuntdesign showroom for the 2023 Holiday Fete at the @washdesignctr . I truly enjoyed making the garland and wreaths displayed with fresh and dried greenery and fruit. The fabric we used for the table cloth is part of the Holly Hunt creation and fabricated by @sewhallie. If you didn’t make it to the Holiday Fete last night it will be on display until Friday!
Things are moving fast at our Parisian inspired project in Arlington!
We have had the joy of working on this Parisian inspired residence in Arlington through its renovation. Drywall is up, tile was delivered today and now we move on to furnishings. C’est tres bon!
