Not much snow on the mountains yet, but it will be coming one of these days. Scenes like this help us remember how blessed we are to live in this country with all the freedoms and privileges' we have. Thank you to all of our men and women in the military who fight for our freedom, fire fighters, law enforcement, and medical personal who care for us......so many things to be thankful for! www.hawleymountain.com

Our horses answer the call that it's time to move on to the next pasture. They follow the lead car pretty well.....most of the time. www.hawleymountain.com

Once a week Ron gives a history talk about the ranch and surrounding areas in the Boulder Valley. He talks about the inhabitants in the valley thousands of years ago, and items found on the ranch are displayed. Interesting and factual information for the guests who have lots of questions to learn more. www.hawleymountain.com

This looks like a "tug of war", but it's really 2 lumberjacks taking down several trees, clearing a location for our new tiny house. We think they have things figured out in order to be accident-free! www.hawleymountain.com

Recycling authentic Hawley Mountain horseshoes occurs every week. Guests of all ages create their own souvenir with horseshoes actually used by our ranch horses. Some unique creations are a result of this activity. What do you think of this idea?

Guests from the UK, Phil and Jenny, visited the ranch this summer and brought so much enthusiasm and laughter with them. Not only was Phil involved in law enforcement in the UK, but with the USMC in the United States as well.

Phil Pitcher served in the Royal Air Force (RAF)as a weapons technician (armorer) from Sept. 1978-Sept. 2004. This display of badges captures Phil's service in the RAF which includes time with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) domains. In addition to numerous equipment types and locations served, he supported his national law enforcement agencies who relied on his specialized skills to make the streets a safe place to be
Phil also completed exchanges with sister organizations in the US, in particular the USMC in Palms, CA. After leaving the RAF, he actively supported the USMC in Afghanistan (Op Enduring Freedom) as a UK liaison officer in disposing of explosives. For this work he was awarded the USMC Certificate of Commendation ...an honor not normally given to civilians!

"These donated badges are a big THANK YOU for the great experience and fantastic crew at Hawley Mountain Ranch." Phil Pitcher

Thanks to Phil for his service in law enforcement in both the UK and US of America and for sharing your well-earned badges with us!

In recognition of his service in law enforcement, Sheriff Randy Retter joins the group of people who have sent a badge to Hawley Mountain to be displayed in the lodge. Beginning his career in 1988, Randy has worked for three law enforcement agencies in east-central Indiana. He joined the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in 1996 and has had the privilege of working in most of the law enforcement positions in that agency. Working through the ranks while holding a variety of leadership roles, Randy was elected Sheriff in 2019. He is now serving his second term as Sheriff. It was our pleasure to have had Randy, his lovely wife, Jackie, and their daughter, Sydney, visit our ranch this summer. We thank you for your service in law enforcement for over 30 years. Outstanding!

A group of guests are gathered around our welcome sign at the end of the lane. This sign was built by the original ranch creator, Bill Jarrett, older brother of Ron, who now operates Hawley Mountain. Bill passed away in 1990 at the age of 50 from cancer, but the vision of Bill continues much the same over the years. Physical changes are apparent, but the Montana hospitality that Bill dreamed of continues. www.hawleymountain.com

Is fly fishing your kind of sport? The smile on Steve's face says it all! The Boulder River is good for wading now, due to its lower level. Something you think you would like to try? Yes or No? www.hawleymountain.com
