Our Story

Our Founder, Lona, found a new seed being planted at the age of 16 years old. She was straight off the North Dakota farm when her Grandparents took her with them to Europe on the ORIGINAL Queen Mary I, a Cunard ship. Her first time in Europe, first time on a cruise ship, first time on an airplane, and first time on a train! The seed started to grow and in the late 1980’s, with her passion for travel and the love of sharing the world with others, she opened the doors to Friendly Cruises and shared the love of travel with her friends and family. 30 years later Friendly Cruises has officially become a second-generational family business, continuing to connect those that want to experience the world outside of their backyard, meet new people, taste new cultures or just want a little winter in the tropics.

Here at Friendly Cruises, we try to match the destination with the person, the ship with the traveler, we handle the details and leave the experience to you.
